There is a book that talks about Catholic Conversions – Jimmy Akin’s story is in the book. Does anyone know what book this is as I would like to read it?

SUPRISED BY TRUTH
ORIGINAL & 2 SEQUENCES , 2, (I THINK AKINS IS IN THAT ONE) and the last is
SUPRISED BY TRUTH 3, which I think has James White’s sister’s conversion.

Aside from that, I suppose that if somebody will start praying the rosary a little, and then a little more as they grow to love the rosary. Prayer makes our love of God grow. And praying the Rosary gives us hope. Praying the Rosary makes the Catholic Faith very personal for me.
Well, for any non-prayers of the Holy Rosary, let me (a non-Catholic) make a quick statement.

Certainly off the topic of good books to give Protestants, but my Catholic friend gave me a Rosary and I’ve started praying the prayers, and have fairly steadily prayed a decade a day. Wow, the first time, I was so burdened by my own sin, and it was like the most “effective” or whatever prayer time I’ve had in a long time.

So, yeah, you’re not likely to get your non-Catholic friends to praying the Holy Rosary. But that’s certainly a good step towards being Catholic. After all, our Lady promises that she will protect those devoted to the Rosary from heresy, among other scary things.

Faith of our Fathers, Cardinal Gibbons, I concur, yes that’s another highly approved book. He wrote it in such a humble, yet forceful way.

I have had 2 Churches of Christ members ask me for my Chrystal Aurora B. Rosary. I gave them each one (not cheap). They keep them hidden in purse or pocket. One of them now where’s a Gold Crucifix necklace to her church! How’s that for silently “preaching Christ and Him Crucified.”(s.Paul)
So, you never can tell.

I am sure topics like this have been posted numerous times. But what is your opinion on this. I am looking for one that covers basically every issue possible in regards to explaining Catholic issues in rebuttal to protestant falsehoods. I know Catholicism and Fundelmentalism is a popular one but I’m not sure that’s what
I’m looking for.
Thank you for starting a wonderful thread. Now I have many more potential resources to help in bringing my evangelical sister back home. Please pray for her and for those of us trying to help family members and neighbors return.

Well like Saint Padre Pio said “Hand me my weapon!”
The weapon referred to his rosary. It is apparently a powerful witness weapon. The saints see things differently than most of us.

As a “basics” book, I use “What Catholics Really Believe”. It doesn’t get very in depth, but it debuttles the “myths” about Catholicism that most Protestants believe. And, it’s VERY easy to read and skim.
