Best book for those not Christian to read?

I figured that this would be an interesting question, what book would those on CAF recommend as a book to give to someone who is not Christian? (basically if you had one shot, in the form of a recommended book to convince them (or most interested them in Christianity) ) (I am guessing many rill recommend the bible a) be more creative b) this is to those who are NOT christian so I would actually say the bible would be a poor choice as then it is just another book and I would say it isn’t the best considering the context of the time etc (it does have it’s limitations after all being written 2000 years ago)

I will now prepare for the 1000 recommendations of the bible (come on people be creative it’s a challenge think outside of the box )

I would say ‘Mere Christianity’ by C.S. Lewis and ‘Orthodoxy’ by G.K. Chesterton. Both helped me immensely during my conversion process. They’re very well-reasoned and not preachy.

Yes Mere Christianity is great… Orthodoxy on the other hand was extremely hard to follow (where as Mere Christianity was very very easy) and overly metaphorical.

I haven’t read it, but because I love Dr. Feser and his writings online I would have to say “The Last Superstition”, but only if the atheist reading it is not adverse to being “yelled at” a bit.

I recommend the bible, yes, and something easy to read and touching like the booklets:

Without a doubt, the first book non-Christians should read is the Gospels.

If they haven’t read them, there is no basis for even starting a dialogue about Christ.That’s why they were written in the first place … to set the record straight and personalize Jesus for future generations.
