Best Catholic history of the Crusades?

(I tried posting this in the CA Book Club section but it wouldn’t let me)

I’m curious if anyone can recommend me a history of the Crusades, given from a Catholic perspective? I’m looking for something scholarly, but from a Catholic (ie. truthful) perspective.

I think Thomas Madden takes a good, balanced view of the crusades, telling the story from all sides. I really loved his audio lecture series, but it is out of print:

I also recommend The Crusaders by Regine Pernoud. Or, well, anything by Regine Pernoud.
