Dear friends,

I recently found out my dearest, best friend is struggling with serious suicidal thoughts and anxiety. This is shocking. She is my age (late 30’s) and is married with little children, well educated and in a needed helping profession. She’s a funny, clever, smart, sweet, giving gal. She says it’s like a dark, awful weight has fallen on her and she can’t get out from under it. She no longer feels like there is a point to life and is “tired” and “ready to die.”

She is finding very little support. In our area mental health resources are scarce. We’re all doing are best but her family and in-laws are, shall we say, not understanding and telling her she is selfish and “that’s life, get over it.”

So, I’m just asking for prayers for her and her family and for those of us supporting her. Thanks a million.

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Private revelation;
St anthony appeared to a woman who fell asleep at his statue on the way to commit suicide. He gave her a prayer and told her to carry it on her. She awoke with a letter with the prayer;

“Behold the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Flee yee hostile powers and adversities
The lion of the Tribe of Judah
The Root of David
Has conquered forever
Alleluia.”

As long as the woman carried the prayer on her she had no suicidal temptations.

This prayer is also inscribed in a column in St Peter’s Square in the Vatican.

I know of a situation where someone suicidal had.that prayer on a piece of blessed linen, they awoke to commit suicide one night, changed their mind. The next day a relative told them that they couldnt stop repeating that prayer all night for that person.

Write down the prayer or print it a few times, get a priest to bless it, and give it to her to carry on her, in her handbag, in her locker, in her car. Give her a blessed miraculous medal to wear, or brown scapular, and a bottle of holy water. Tell her to sprinkle holy water around her room each night.

‘pray to block the evil spirits of revenge.’

Some prayers of protection:
St Michael prayer, Ephesians armour of God, psalm 91,

If she mentioned this in confession this temptation if it ks spiritual might be removed completely.

Also;
On the human side of things: a lot of things affect our looking at the world:
Positive thinking, healthy eating (no processed foods if possible), following big and little dreams, eg learning a music instrument, joining a book club, picking a nice holiday to look forward to in the summer,

THE BRIEF OR BLESSING OF SAINT ANTHONY

A case of diabolical obsession, that yielded to the power of St Anthony of Padua, was recorded in Portugal during the reign of King Denis.

Under the guise of a heavenly visitant, the devil frequently appeared to a woman of Lisbon and urged her to throw herself into the river Tagus in order to obtain the remission of her sins and eternal happiness.

The tormented woman at length decided to drown herself. Passing a Franciscan chapel on her way to the river, she entered, and kneeling before the altar of St. Anthony, implored the Saint to help her save her soul. Overcome by fatigue, she fell asleep.

During her slumber St Anthony appeared to her, revealed the deceit of the “father of lies” and released her from the obsession. On awaking, the woman found a letter which the Saint had given her during the vision. It contained the prayer now known as the “Brief of St Anthony.” The original of Saint Anthonys Brief was preserved with the crown jewels by the King of Portugal. Pope Sixtus V caused the efficacious lines to be inscribed on an obelisk, which he had erected in the quadrangle in front of Saint Peter’s.

The Church once incorporated this prayer against the powers of evil in its ritual for an exorcism.

SAINT ANTHONY’S BRIEF

Behold the Cross of the Lord!
Fly, ye powers of darkness!
The Lion of the tribe of Juda,
the root of David, has conquered.
Alleluia!

It is a devout practice to wear this blessing known as Saint Anthonys Brief on one’s person, or to put it up in the home, and often repeat it.

Passion of Christ comfort me! Comfort me for the day is long and weary, comfort me as I fight my up the path of life safe to the haven of Thy Sacred Heart. Comfort me in pain and sorrow and tribulation, comfort me when temptation rages around me and every hope seems lost. And when that last dread hour has sounded and my eyes are closing on this world of sin, Passion of Christ! comfort me then, and lead me gently to Thy Wounded Feet above. Amen

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal DakiniArtis’s friend. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into DakiniArtis’s friend.'s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon DakiniArtis’s friend in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Praying for your friend who is suffering with a great deal of pain.

Oh Holy Father, touch the heart of your troubled daughter so that she may find peace. Help her to know you will never forsake her in her time of need. Hold her in your loving arms so that she feels safe and hopeful. Calm her mind of it’s destructive thoughts and relieve this burden that she carries. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

I have never heard that story before. Thank you so much for sharing it. It means more to me than I can possibly explain.
OP, I’m praying for your friend.

The prayer was used in exorcisms and inscribed on a pillar in St Peter’s Square in Rome.
It seems to have been given special recognition by the Vatican in this way. Part of the prayer is direct lines from scripture.

It’s a powerful prayer against evil. And especially against suicide.

It can be.prayed for those being tempted that way.

We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world!

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.
