OK, I know I’m opening a can of worms here, what with the fact that some of you still believe Harry Potter is evil. But I think with the final book coming in July, I’d like to know which book you guys like best. I thought Goblet of Fire was great.

I liked half-blood prince the best, but chamber of secrets comes in second.

You are actually going to force people to choose? I think it’s cruelty to try and force me to pick a favorite. 😉 Oh well, if your going to make me pick I would have to go with the Half-Blood Prince. Snape is incredible!!! 👍 She has done a great job with his character.
I’ve already ordered the last book. Can’t wait for it to come in. 😃

IMO the Order of the Phoenix was the best. Starts with the attack of the dementors and Harrys trial and ends with a fantasitc magic fight at the ministry of magic. The Half blood Prince would have been a lot better if they had cut out all the snogging sections.

BTW-you know this thread will soon be riddled with attacks on these “Satanic” books and concerns about the immortal souls of those of who read them and wrose yet let our children read them. To them I have one word “Stuptify”!!!

I also love Order of the Phoenix, and can’t wait to see how they do the Weasley twins dramatic exit from Hogwarts. It’s my favorite one so far. While I loved Half Blood Prince, and I have my suspicions as to who RAB is, it made me cry, and therefore is lower than OooP. My book is preordered to, and I’ve already taken the day off from work to read it.

I’ve often wondered if those muggles have even read the books, estesbob.

Harry Potter totally rocks. I teach fifth grade and find it very good for motivating kids to read. My whole classroom has a Potter theme and a whole wall of posters and stuff. The kids just love it.

And mark my words, muggles, there is ample Christian symbolism; and in the end we will more clearly see that the books have a Christian theme, or I will eat my pointy black velvet hat.

So far I would have to say *Harrius Potter et Philosophi Lapis *but it is only just recently I have acquired *Harrius Potter et Camera Secretorum *and have not yet had time to read more than a few pages.

😛

Probably not-but them again perhaps they are squibs? Being a squib can give one a sour disposition(I Am thiking of a certain caretaker here)

I can’t believe you people would encourage innocent children to read such evil books clearly authored by the Devil. Don’t you know that if impressionable chidlren read these books, they will turn to witchcraft and cast evil spells on their parents?

LOL - only kidding.

I answered the poll according to the opinion of my 14 year old son - Half Blood Prince was the best.

I like both Prisoner of Azkaban and Chamber of Secrets (I voted for PoA though). Both books stand well on their own (not a part of the series) and they have very good (and obvious) moral teachings.

I love the whole series. My daughter can’t wait to read them. She’ll be 8 in May, I think I might start reading them to her this summer, at least up to PoA, GoF might be too intense.

I’lI have to agree. Order of the Phoenix has so far been my fav…

Goblet of Fire was the best. I thought Harry was annoying in Order of The Pheonix.

Definitely PofA, with GofF a close second. I can’t believe some people actually voted for CofS! That one is the worst!

On another note, why is it that in America, the first novel is called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone?

They didn’t think it would sell if it had the word Philosopher in it. Like we don’t know what the word means or its a turn off etc.

I think it was called Sorcerer’s Stone instead of Philosopher’s Stone because the latter is from medieval history. I bet the publisher believed Americans knew so little history that the title would be meaningless to them. The Philosopher’s Stone is what alchemists were trying to discover–the same as in the HP story.

I voted for Half-Blood Prince, though my user-name came from the illustrious Nymphadora Tonks, introduced in OOP. 😃

It just goes to show we all have different tastes. HBP is my favourite, and the only book in the series I actually dislike is PoA. I found it dull, dull, dull - and the movie even duller.
