Best Missal to use?

Hi everybody! I’m new to the forums here, so I figured this would be a good way to introduce myself; I’ve been wanting to go to the Extraordinary Form of the Mass for a long time, and now that I’ve finally found a Church in my area that does it, I would like to purchase a Missal to better follow along with it. Which one is better; the Baronius Press 1962 Roman Missal or the St. Andrew’s Daily Missal from St. Bonaventure Publications?

Just to clarify, too; I went to Mass there this past weekend and found that I liked it a lot! I also felt very welcome there; it was wonderful!

The St. Andrew’s is good. The 1962 Missal will be a little more “current” though.

Thank you for the suggestion of the Edmund Campion Hymnal; I would like to check it out, but that will have to wait. I walked into the local catholic bookstore and they had the Baronius Missal, and I bought that. I must say that it is quite useful for the daily prayers and devotions, and I can’t wait to go to our local Tridentine Mass with it!

I have the Campion Missal. It’s an excellent book, and remarkably cheap for its quality – less than $30 altogether, and that included sales tax and shipping and handling. On the downside it’s very large and bulky and it doesn’t have ribbons, which is a problem since there’s necessarily a lot of page-turning (from the readings/propers for the day to Kyriale to the hymnal to the order of Mass, etc.).

The standard 1957 or 59 St Josephs Missal is just fine for t he average person. They are extremely plentiful and can be picked up on E-Bay and other sites on line quite easily at a very cheap price, usually in the $7 to $15 range, U.S… You can often find them at thrift and second hand stores as well.,

I love the St. Andrews missal from St. Bonaventure publications, but the type is a bit to small and it is a copy of the missal before the 1955 Holy Week changes, so one might get confused if a 1962 missal is called for (We found this out at the Easter Vigil – 12 lessons versus 4, for example).

I have 3 missals but I use my New Marian Missal the most. I LOVE it. It’s under 1500 pages and doesn’t feel like a brick. I found it on ebay in excellent condition but they are hard to find. It only has some of the propers of the mass in Latin (which was not a big issue for me).
