Best Philosophers and Debaters

As it says in the title who do you think are the best atheistic and theistic philosophers and debaters

Atheism:
Matt Dillhunty (I find he doesn’t give the theist any of his premises he challenges on every single one)

Theism:
Peter Kreeft
Ravi Zacharias
William Lane Craig (though I am not so sure on this one as it seems he declines those people who would actually challenge them, sigh)
 
Fr. Robert Barron, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine, Peter Kreeft and William lane Craig…
 
Hm, well 70% of philosophers are atheists so I couldn’t list all my favs lol. In the philosophy of religion I really like Graham Oppy, William Rowe, Erik Wielenberg, Quentin Smith and Michael Tooley. But, there are so many others! As far as atheist who have debated go…i like Richard Carrier, Shelly Kagan, & Tooley again. Stephen Law is good as well. there’s a lot 😛
 
Doh! I forgot to mention Schellenberg as a fav philosopher & Paul Draper as a good atheist debater who-in my opinion-took Robin Collins to the woodshed.

Peter Kreeft and William lane Craig were a great help to me when i first started seriously questioning my belief in God. These two are very good debaters.

The best philosopher award i would have to give to Aquinas, although we have to respect that Aristotle provided his core material.

Coppleston is good. His books on the history of philosophy are great.

Everybody else is just repeating what Aquinas said.

As far as atheism goes: Nietzsche.
 
Forgot Schillebeeckx and Merton as philosophers…would you call Merton a philosopher?
 
On the athiest side of the equation, I recall reading Percy Bysshe Shelley’s esay on the subject many years ago and appreciating his writing.(although I remained unpersuaded:)). He’s best known for his poetry and has a lovely gift for words.
I was excited about the positivist philosophers (Vienna Circle) back in the day as well.
Nowadays, I appreciate listening to arguments around apologetics.
