It’s a tie:

Panis Angelicus

and

Tantum ergo.

I also have a fondness for “Stabat Mater” during Lent.

Runner up is Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus”.

Honorable Mention to “Halleluia Chorus” from Handel.

“Allelua” by Ralph Vaughn Williams.

Quatre Motets sur les themes Gregoriens by Durefle.

I’d probably go for Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, much as I love Another One Bites the Dust as well.

Smells Like Teen Spirit is up there as well

Heartbreak Hotel (Elvis of course)

Satisfaction (Rolling Stones)

Let it Be (Beatles)

Several AC/DC contenders in there (have to fly the Aussie flag) - ‘Long Way to the Top’, ‘Thunderstruck’, ‘Highway to Hell’

Ok, silly me, I was doing more hymns and sacred songs.

There are lots of great secular songs. . .some would argue "Greensleeves’ (which was known in Shakespeare’s times and is mentioned in one of his plays actually). . .

I’ve always been partial to “Sumer is acumin in, ludhe sing cuckoo” (a great Medieval ronde).

And opera. Nessin Dormi, for example, anything from Mozart.

Operetta too: It’s hard not to be nearly breathless at the wit and musicality of Gilbert and Sullivan’s work.

Broadway: Lerner and Lowe, Rogers and Hart, Rogers and Hammerstein.

Gershwin’s "Porgy and Bess’ --not just Summertime, gorgeous as it is, but the swingy “It Ain’t necessarily so”. . .

Cole Porter at his peak. . .

Can’t get into Andrew Lloyd Weber that much but Stephen Sondheim can be quite mysterious and deep.

Gospel and early American music, vocal and instrumental.

Irving Berlin–a prodigy.

Of the pop tunes, the earliest work of Lennon/McCartney I prefer to the more ‘self-absorbed’ and experimental (not to mention drug-addled) later works. . .

Love to play Marvin Hamlishes’ “The Entertainer”. For that matter, ragtime works from the period as well.

Arlo Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land”. . .

Lots of great stuff. . .

I have to do this by genre:
Rock: Steppenwolf: Born to be Wild
Classic Rock: Buddy Holly: Peggy Sue
Surf: The Beach Boys: Barbara Ann
Bossa Nova: Astrud Gilberto: The Girl from Ipanema
Pop Vocal (female): Peggy Lee: Fever
Pop Vocal (male): Sinatra: I’ve Got You Under My Skin
Pop Instrumental: The Theme from Peter Gunn
Big Band: Benny Goodman: Sing, Sing, Sing
Cajun: Beausoleil: Sophie
Motown: Otis Reading: Sitting on the Dock of the Bay
Musical: (from Porgy and Bess) Summertime
Jazz: (any version): St. Louis Blues or Take Five (a tie!)
One Hit Wonder: The Standells: Dirty Water
Rhythm & Blues: Ray Charles: What’d I Say?
Country: Walkin’ After Midnight

Teen spirit is my ring tone. Deffinatly one of the best songs of the past 20 years. We havn’t seen one like this in a while now it seems. I also like Through the fire and the flames. Karma Police is a good one. Wonderwall is also great.
