Hi. I myself am technically not a Catholic yet. I’m a Methodist who’s come to believe in Catholicism more and more, and who’s been talking to a Priest off and on for a year now, receiving a blessing each time. And I just went to Mass for the first time on Sunday.

All of my closest friends and family members aren’t religious at all. But I find myself more and more drawn to Catholicism and I grow more and more eager to meet with the Priest each time I do, and I’m looking forward to going to Mass again. However, considering I’m not technically a Catholic yet, would it be hypocritical of me to pray for their conversions as well?

I’m a convert from a Protestant church and non of my family are Catholic.
I pray for them but no conversions yet 😦 I have hope though, such as St Monica prayed and fasted for her sons conversion for years before he became Catholic… and became Saint Augustine!

I recommended the rosary, praying daily and showing the faith work through you. I realized I can’t convert anyone in my family through my words, I hope they become open to God but all I can do is show how God works in my life and hopefully that will open their eyes and hearts to God.

Make your life a prayer. Good luck on your journey, and welcome!

I don’t think it’s hypocritical. One sinner can pray for another sinner, and aren’t we all sinners! Wherever you are on your faith journey, feel free to pray for others to come nearer to God.
