Better Than the Powerball Jackpot

This morning I got something billions of times better than winning the Powerball Jackpot!

I got to receive Jesus in the Eucharist! šŸ™‚

Anybody else get that today?
 
No, I unfortunately did not receive Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament today, but, yes, the Eucharist is much, MUCH, better than the Powerball!

Me too. Iā€™ve had a much deeper spiritual life since I attended and received Jesus at Mass daily.

If I ever have to miss Mass on Sunday (even say for illness) it breaks my heart.
 
I was thinking something along the same lines, just inverted. So I didnā€™t win the powerball today. I also didnā€™t:
  • die
  • contract a horrible illness
  • get injured
  • lose my home
  • get robbed
  • lose my job
  • spill hot coffee on myself
  • get into a car accident
  • get a flat tire
We tend to focus on the great things that donā€™t happen to us (although winning the lottery may not end up being a blessing but a curse) but forget to be thankful about all the bad things that donā€™t happen to us either.
 
If I won the Powerball, I would donate it all to the Church. šŸ™‚

I believe you woudnā€™t be able to write it all off, though, so you would be faced with one heck of a tax liability.

It seems like there are a lot of depressed people consoling themselves today because of the Powerball. I was tempted but Iā€™m glad I didnā€™t play.
 
If you did not win the Jackpot of Jackpots, you can still win the Semi-Jackpot by receiving the Spiritual Communion:
MY Jesus, I believe that Thou art present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love Thee above all things and I desire Thee in my soul. Since I cannot now receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though Thou wert already there, I embrace Thee and unite myself wholly to Thee; permit not that I should ever be separated from Thee. Amen.
