Oh, I am not surprised if what the Muslim media publishes for its readership is taken seriously.I had a Polish relative who really believed that the CIA in the 1950’s used to drop potato-bugs out of planes at night to ruin the Polish potato crops.
It’s called propaganda, and it works.
The CIA dropping pests on polish potato crops is actually within the realm of possibility. Ghost cats who can’t keep their paws to themselves is a little more far fetched.I had a Polish relative who really believed that the CIA in the 1950’s used to drop potato-bugs out of planes at night to ruin the Polish potato crops.

Possible, but not practical or likely. I mentioned it, though, because it operates from the same paranoid-style world-view. The bugs are a naturally occuring pest, just like the sharks are a naturally occuring hazard in the ocean. To assign their presence/attacks to the agency of some enemy is the common thread, and is the result of propaganda in both cases. The CIA dropping pests on polish potato crops is actually within the realm of possibility…
Of course it isn’t practical or likely if you know anything about how the US operates, however your average Polish farmer in the post-belli period is unlikely to have known anything about the US other than that they were the enemy, as I said it was in the realm of possibility. Has the Polish government claimed it was ghosts summoned by American Jews that were coming during the night to eat all the potatos… it wouldn’t be nearly as believable.Possible, but not practical or likely. I think the cat guy at gitmo was just one psychologically disturbed individual, from which we can’t conclude too much, other than he is personally nuts.

Well, the American media might not be as much a simpleton as al-Jezzera, but they are at times just as absurd. A couple of examples:“…imagine if a prime-time CNN program hosted someone who earnestly accused people of witchcraft, talking birds, and rapist cats—all to a sincerely concerned host. What would that suggest about the American mindset?”
