I was just driving home for my lunch break, and I was listening to Seattle’s Classical Radio station (98.1 i believe) and I was APPALED to hear an ad for Planned Parenthood’s fund raiser being played!! I was so angry I had to pull over for a little bit to cool off. Obviously I don’t want to listen to this radio station anymore, but do you think I should write them about it and let them know they’ve lost a listener over this, or just let it go? I am SO angry right now! If we followed their slogan :every child a wanted child" I wouldn’t even BE HERE! It’s like hearing an ad telling you that you shouldn’t even EXIST!! :banghead:

No, don’t let it go and don’t stop listening. Find out who their advertisers are and write them. Money talks more than toothless (as far as they’re concerned) complaints. They really don’t care if they lose listeners or not, just if they lose advertising dollars.

And let the radio station know what you’re doing.

That’s rather convenient that they list all their advertisers on their website 😃

I couldn’t find PP listed in their advertisers so I sent them the following email below their Web and email address are king.org/contact/index.aspx and feedback@king.org. If they reply and say they support PP. Just give the word and we’ll flood their inbox.

My e-mail:

Hi

I heard from a friend that you had an Ad for a Planned Parenthood (PP) fund raiser on your station, but I couldn’t find PP listed in your advertisers. Do you advertise for PP or was it a news clip? My friend is thinking of not listening to your station any more. Too many children of the next generation are dead to ever support an organization like PP. Please let me know if you support PP or not.

Steve

I’m not sure if flooding their inbox is such a great idea. I am going to write them though, and I hope a lot of prolife people do too. It’s just sick.

Every radio station has the right to air the ads it wants to. If we disagree we should just stop listening to that station.

it is their right, but that doesn’t mean we have to accept what they play. And yes, we can stop listening, but we should let them know why, and that they need to stop advertising those things if they want people to listen.

If they don’t support the right to live, I don’t support any of their rights. They have the right to go out of business or stop support war on humanity. All businesses that support the killing of humans, us, do not deserve to exist.

Does that logic extend to “If we disagree with abortion, we should just not abort our own babies”?

We can also stop patronizing their other sponsors, and so notify those sponsors. Stations take dissatisfied sponsors much more seriously than they do dissatisfied listeners.

Write and/or call the station to let them know how you feel. A local station here several years ago played a PP ad, and I wrote that I wouldn’t listen to them any longer. There must have been others who did the same, because the ad was pulled. I learned later that one friend’s husband called the station. The stations do listen to the people. Give it a try.

Internet stuff, count me in. What should I do? Politely email them and let them know I am not pleased with the planned parenthood ad?

We have a right to let them know if we disagree with something, especially if that something is immoral 😉

How did you know the ad was pulled?
