Wow Marineboy, you really are filled with hate. Remember that one of the Our Lord has told us that it what good does it do to only love those that love you but there is a great reward for us to love those who hate us. Protestants do have some bad but I am willing to bet that they do have a lot of good because God created them and God NEVER makes mistakes. I think it might help you to remember that Christ is present in every human and God has reason for everyone and that one protestant that you are so determined to distroy may be the one that God had planned to help you in your spiritual journey. I really pray that you would put some of that anger aside and look into everyones heart for the good in them, because God does that to you everyday, and remember The Lords prayer and reciete it daily for some help.

We are all sinners, and we need to consentrate on our own selvation before we start condeming others.

What is wrong in Marine Boys post? What’s wrong?

Monica, refer to the underlined in your statement. It is true that God doesn’t make mistakes. But are you trying to say that God MADE Martin Luther break away from the Church? Was it God that caused the Protestants to deviate from the CHURCH THAT JESUS CHRIST STARTED (in Matt 16:18)?** You seem to say that God decided to change his mind and start a Sola Scriptura Church. STOP**. Don’t you know that it was Martin Luther’s *FREE WILL that caused him to slap the Pope in the face. Maybe it was Satan, Monica. God gave Luther a FREE WILL and Luther used it . I agree with Marine Boy, but I would have said it a bit more smoothly but with the same result.

Seems to me the marine directed his comments to heretical positions and he seeks the destruction of heresy. I failed to find words of hate towards any single person or any groups. I may be wrong, but I think he’s hating the sin and loving the sinner.

**I’ll agree with that. I would hope that Marine has no hate in his heart toward Protestants, because there is a difference here between hating Protestants (which we obviously should not do), and hating the heresy and schism of Protestantism. **

**I also agree that the level of ignorance of certain evangelicals and fundamentalists sometimes gets on my nerves. Their faith is of the simple, child-like faith that our Lord asked for, but it is an ill-informed faith. They do not know WHY they believe the things they do. **

Whenever they do get on my nerves, I remind myself that I am a convert from evangelicalism…

"And such were some of you…"

WOW, I have never read such bigoted garbage in a long time. It is the main reason I turned my back on the Church years ago. No I did not join any other church, in case you group of bigots are wondering.
Hey don’t cut off your neck to spite your nose.

… just because we don’t like to be misquoted, mal-treated, ridiculed or discriminated against does not make us out to be bigots.

I’ve had my fair share of discrimination (racial and religious), so I know what being the victim of bigotry is like.

IF you want to see bigotry, try posting on a fundalmentalist web site.

Maybe what you see as bigotry and what we see it as, is far different. Most of the folks here have not lumped all Protestants into the same kettle, nor have we made up any false claims that distorts the truth about what some of the folks we have encountered.

I suppose trying to make a generalization about any group may be thought of as bigotry. However when the express policy of a group teaches misinformation or makes it a point to attack another group with fabrications and half truths, I think that is legitimate grounds for characterizing that group as being anti-Catholic. It is we who are bigots, or is it they ???

We’re not the ones who claim the other group is gong to H*** in a hand basket.

Hello Exporter,
I am not too sure why you are so angry with me. I never said anything about Luther or any other protestent for that matter. All i am saying is that God puts certain people in our lives for reasons. And since God created all we must learn to take the good out of everything. There is always evil but if you were to look close enough you will find good. And if there is not any good in a certain person or action than you can take that bad and learn from it and that in turn shows the good.

The point I was trying to make to Marine Boy was who are we to judge what is in the heart of a Protestent? I will quote Thomas A Kempis “To have no opinion of ourselves and to think always well and highly of others, is great wisdom and perfection.
If thou should see another sin openly, or commit some grievous crime, yet thou oughtest not to esteem thyself better: because thou knowest not how long thou mayest be able to remain in good state.
We are all frail: but as to thee do not think that any one more frail than thyself.”

I am sorry if I didn’t explain it as well as Kempis did.:o
