I was a Bible alone, Faith alone, and Christ alone Believer for some years and I need to be honest it never sat well with me. I don’t mean to step on anyone’s toes but this is my experience. The first year of my so-called conversion I was on top of the world. The worship music alone had me wanting more. I started in the charismatic church, but I started seeing some real strange things which had me running for the door. Well long story short I really never did find answers to…Why so many different churches and doctrines? From hyper-dispensational to seventh day adventist. Wow so many different beliefs and they all claim to be right. Who is right ? HisGrace

Hi,

I came from a Baptist background too. It took some years to figure out who was right. But I can say in all confidence by the Grace of God that the Right Way or the Right Church is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. [errgh if you want, I can go dig up some references. Might start with the CCC for starters under Apostolic Tradition and also looking under Revelation as well, it is before Part I the creed in the CCC. If you need help I will gladly chase down sources.]

If I might recommend a book called Rome sweet Rome by Scott Hahn. He goes through the book and describes how he came to the truth that Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide were not correct. He writes of his progression from Protestantism into Catholicism. I love his books by the way.

There are many churches and doctrines because they did not agree with some teaching of the Catholic Church and broke away. Then those groups broke from eachother ending up in sad divisions you see.

God Bless.

Well, after many years as a baptist too…God has lead me back home to The One…Not two or many…But One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church… I have found the answer. I Believe. I am Roman Catholic…God Bless You, Peter

yes, the addition of your thread title does lead to confusion.

It adds up perfectly in my book so to speak lol. 😃

Sacred Scriptures + Magesterium of the Catholic Church + Apostolic Tradition = Fullness of Truth or 100% Certitude :extrahappy::extrahappy::extrahappy:

 The reason I put these two denominations was they were the last straw in my walk in the protestant faith. I listen to this one seventh day minister and it was a sermon similar to why so many denominations? I seen through his theology. Basically it was their wrong ie all of protestantism and where right…I also started listening to my brothers at the grace churches which don’t believe in anything other than what St. Paul taught in Romans-Philemon. Then I gave up and started studying another religion which lead me back to Catholicism. His Grace:confused:

Now that’s a positive formula, quite the antithesis to that other equation!
