Are there any books talking about the historical acuracy of the bible and ecf

For example that our bible and ecf match the original copies

A comIm theme ive heard from athiest is the bible has changed

And from Protestants that the ecf are forgeries from the catholic church

Ask them for proof. They won’t have any. In fact, many Protestants do read the Early Church Fathers. Or parts of their writings, at least.

If you’re interested in a summary of all the differences between various manuscripts of the books of the New Testament, see Metzger’s A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament. Sadly there is no equivalent text covering the Old Testament.

This book will give you a good sense as to the number of changes and degrees of change in the Bible, at least as far as the New Testament is concerned.

The Dead Sea Scrolls evidence the accuracy of the Bible.
 
Also Church history books help… since the ECF were instrumental in assembling the Bible (NT) it is somewhat silly to make the Bible infallible and the church leadership corrupted.
 
Rarely have I ran onto someone so extreme and desperate that they claim that the Church forged the Church Fathers. That is a position that nobody with any credibilty would claim, and its definately nothing to defend since anyone who believes that has made their mind up to a point that they will not listen anyway.
 
As for the Bible, one needs to turn the arguement around against those who attack its minor variances. One should point out that it is truly amazing how well its been preserved considering how old it is and all the scribal hands that it has been through. No other document has any comparison to the thousands of ancient copies that back up the Bible. The most different versions among the manuscripts still tell the same story with the same meaning, that is miraculous in itself!

I recently purchased a complete work of EFC with commentary

Unfortunatly its by a 19th century Anglican Bishop.

In his comments on Clement he constantly references Clements use of the Septuagint. to explain Clements reference to material not found in the Protestants translations.

You may be going in the wrong direction.
Follow its teachings; it will lead you to God.
You can then lead others by your example.
Having said that, it is good to know history,
 
Anyone who reads the early church fathers and don’t come to the conclusion that the early church was and is the Catholic Church.And if they don’t ,they are in denial or they don’t want to acknowledge the truth.Especially after reading about St.Ignatius of Antioch a 2nd century Saint who was taught by St.John the Apostle.
