Over the past few months, I’ve been trying to cultivate the habit of reading scripture everyday. It’s amazing how the Holy Spirit teaches you through the bible. Things become surprisingly apparent through His Guidance. What a blessing :yup: !!!

Anyone else doing daily reading?

I get “Magnificat” and get the daily Mass readings plus morning and evening readings along with meditations on elements in the readings. Great subscription 🙂

I read the Bible once a week when I go to adoration.
But I drive a truck for 6 hours a day, and I listen the the Bible on CD quite alot.( plus other Catholic audio programs, especially “Our Fathers Plan”) I like Jeff Cavins idea of reading through the Bible in chronological order, This approach has made the bible make alot more sense to me.
Here is a list of the 14 books that keep the story line going.
  1. Code:
    Genesis
  2. Code:
    Exodus
  3. Code:
    Numbers
  4. Code:
    Joshua
  5. Code:
    Judges
  6. Code:
    1 Samuel
  7. Code:
    2 Samuel
  8. Code:
    1 Kings
  9. Code:
    2 Kings
  10. Ezra
  11. Nehemiah
  12. 1 Maccabees
  13. Luke
  14. Acts
And for reflections and study, I enjoy the following website:
liturgy.slu.edu/
(The center for liturgy at Saint Louis University.)

3rd vote for the Magnificat, even though I don’t subscribe myself.

I read the daily lectionary in* Reading God’s Word*. It has all the daily mass readings for the year. Their web address is www.livingfaith.com. Blessings.

I try and read the Bible every day, and am getting better about making it a habit. I usually don’t have a set schedule though. I just open the Old Testament to random a page, and read a chapter, and then open the New Testament to a random page and read a chapter. I do plan on reading the New Testament completly through though, most likely this summer when I have plenty of time to go in depth.
