Please…someone inform me where in the Bible it tells us that the Bible itself if the sole authority in all matters of faith.

I understand the Bible tells us that it is useful and it is *all inspired.
*
What I want to know is where in the Bible does it say that it is the ONLY USEFUL thing and the ONLY INSPIRED thing.

Thanks!

May Peace be with you all!

They warned us about the traditions of men. So when I examined traditions I got a bunch of contradictory mess. Orthodox say one thing. Polish National Catholics say another. Roman Catholics say this. Tradiiton and scripture is leading to division. The first break up was between two churches who could not agree. Catholicism led to division. There is a church on every corner claiming apostolic succession. That is why I follow Jesus. Using the Bible of course. If they had done that all along, think how much less division the world would have in Christianity.

That does not actually answer my question.

The Bible also tells us to adhere to Tradition. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

And which New Testament did the Apostles and St. Paul use? I understand some answers from people will be that they did not need one because they had truth revealed to them in a different manner that did not include the Bible.

We know St. Paul did not rely on the New Testament to guide his faith, because he wrote most of it…so why would we also need the New Testament as our ONLY means for guidance?

Wrong. It isn’t Tradition and Scripture that leads to division, but men like your man made churches. The Catholic church is not man made, unless you call Jesus the man.
The bible clearly says that if it is man made it will be overthrown, but it is from GOD, you will not be able to overthrow it, Acts 5:38-39.
After almost 2,000 years the Catholic church is still here despite the many attempts to overthrow it.
WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?
The bible clearly says if you try to overthrow it you may find yourself fighting even against GOD, Acts 5:39.
Do you think maybe that is the reason why you cannot not find any of those who have tried to overthrow it for the last 2,000 years?
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TRIED TO BURY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, THE CHURCH ENDED UP BURYING THEM INSTEAD!

yes and if you can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt one single traditon that I do not believe that comes from Christ I will believe it.
Your so called Sacred Tradition has produced hundreds of churches all claiming to have the right combination of tradition and scripture.

The first big split was over two churches that could not agree on so called sacred tradition. Yes I know your church buried people. Of course I know that. That is one of the reasons they cannot be the true church. Christ never would have condoned that.

You are still dodging the question.

In response to your first comment:
One tradition is that the Bible is not the sole means of authority…because the Bible no where tells us this to be the case.

If the True Church is one that have never committed evil…then no True Church exists. The Church is a “hospital for sinners”. That is why we need a savior.

Besides…this is off the thread topic.

There are no historically provable traditions that come from Christ. I understand that as a Catholic you will try to talk me out of believing the Bible…like right now. You guys started this whole split. I believe the Bible. Go ahead. Try to convince me. Gets you a couple hours out of purgatory every Christian you convince scripture is not what it says it is.

Your signature shows confusion in your journey…

Anyway, are you blaming the Catholic church (again) for burying people? Because if you are, I could be here all night starting with Protestants and others who did a lot of killing themselves. Catholics are still being killed today.

I don’t know if you mean buried or burned. We do buried our dead. As for burning, the secular government burn heretics. The Church only made tribunals to see if there was any truth of heresy by someone who was accused of being one. You might be refer to Inquistion.
Of course I know that. That is one of the reasons they cannot be the true church. Christ never would have condoned that.
The Catholic Church never condoned death. They even condemned forced conversions. Even the Pope condemned the sack of Constantinople by Catholic Christians. His condemnation was ignored. No surprise because many Catholics today do not follow Church teachings.

Jesus Christ promised that the gates of hell shall not prevailed against it. So the Church is perserved from teaching heresy. The promised did not imply that members of the Church would be immune from sinning.

Many Protestants like yourself confused impeccibility with infallibility.

The Catholic church is the true church, everyone else is an offshoot from it. All others DIVORCED THEMSELVES from the true church.

You are the one that said they buried people. Not me.
I never killed anyone. No one in my church did either. We believe in religious liberty. I fought to defend the rights of Pagans, Wiccans, Christians and atheists.

Whoa!

One historically provable tradition is the Seven Sacraments (I mean seven historically provable traditions.)

I am not trying to talk you out of believing the Bible…I am trying to understand why you believe that if the Bible is the only authority and guide for faith…why does it not explicitly say this? OR…where does it say this?

The thought never crossed my mind that I would be in purgatory less hours (thanks for the over-generalization though!)

Do you work for the ACLU?

Take it slow then. Show me something extrabiblical that you can prove comes from Jesus. I have read all the earliest documents.
We both believe the Bible. Great. So move onto this other thing I need to believe.
Prove one.
I do not think that is unreasonable.

They have divorce from the One Church established from Jesus Christ.

They do not even have the authority to depart from a Church has has the keys of the kingdom. I don’t know what authority they have to rebel in the first place. I do think the reason for the division was form out of pride.

The Protestant Reformation is not from God, but from Man.

Who cares about that. I am talking about 2008. I am talking about Jesus Christ changing my life. I am talking about lives changed.
Quit living in the past. It causes your hatred of us.
