Bible & Catechism in one volume

(Not sure if this is the right forum for this, if not, reel free to move it)

I was wondering about this recently. We are often told to read our Bibles and Catechism and what better way to keep both our Bibles and Catechism handy than having one volume that contains both the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Personally, I think it would be very beneficial to have something like this for reference, learning, and just to keep them both nearby.

Is there anything like this? I couldn’t find anything online.

What are your thoughts on this?
 
It would be a great idea, and also to have it cross-referenced to where the Scripture would reference Catechism paragraphs.
 
Awesome idea. I would buy one in a heartbeat, no matter how thick and heavy it would be!

That is actually a great idea. It would be able to show Catholics and non-Catholics where in the Bible we get out beliefs.

If I had the knowledge and time to use self-publishing sites like Lulu and if the Catechism of the Catholic Church was in the public domain (it is not), I would try to put something like this together, but alas, no 😦

If something like this did exist, it would be easier, I think, for others (myself included) to read both the Bible and Catechism.

Or the Catholic Church could just put it into the public domain or many other licenses that are more permissible to it’s free use. This is already established in many areas such as software, media (though not hollywood they more abused copyright), and literature.

Such things as

and yes the current copyright system is broken 😮

Boy do I EVER feel foolish !!!

Anyway, about a combo of the bible and the Catechism,
I don’t know of any combo for us Catholics.
The EPISCOPALIANS are way ahead of us on this one and have been for decades
now.
THEY have a thick, combination NRSV Bible/BOOK OF COMMON Prayer available
for purchase.
Someone needs to suggest to the USCCB just such a combo for us Catholics.

Right now about the closest you can get to having the Bible and the Catechism in one volume is with a Kindle (or other e-reader type device). I have four Bible translations and the Catechism on my Kindle which is very convenient.
 
There are plenty of online resources that has been made that allows us to do quick searches and so on between the Bible and Catechism. And I did forget to mention that the Catechism has a very good Scripture citation index in the back of it which is very handy. But a nice 1 volume printed edition would be helpful.
 
This is a great idea.

Some more info in there would be good too.

I know a Mormon who has a big, zip up Bible with book of Mormon and the other documents that they think important (Book of Abe etc).

As well as Bible and Catechism it could have prayers, missal info, devotions and even some teachings in them. The recent Sunday missal released here a few months ago contains a piece by Pope Benedict on the important of the Eucharist.
 
The are many writings from Saints that should be published in English. I cannot find Bonaventure, Robert Bellarmine, and many particulars from Thomas Aquinas. I wonder if it would be in God’s providence to provide more flexibilty or accessablity within publishing houses and the Church at large.
 
There is still a lot of great stuff that has not been translated into English. If I had the funds I would get a lot of those works translated and published, especially the glossa ordinaria.
