at my high school im taking a introduction to the bible, and i asked the teacher if we’d be covering the deuterocanon, and he said no. because he has to follow guidelines from the state. but that hardly seems fair to us catholics who want to study the whole bible not just most of it.

And you’ve just discovered why it is so hard to have religion in state school’s because it always comes down to the question of “who’s religion” should you teach. Teach the Protestant version of the bible and Catholics feel like they aren’t being taught from the whole truth. Teach from the Catholic bible and Protestant’s feel like they are being taught false items. No one wins.

Is there any way you can ask if he can teach you about those books say, after school? Or does this school not allow teaching the Cathoic Bible at all?
