Has anyone found a Catholic bible study that works well for regular personal study? I will be moving around a bit this summer and will not likely be able to find a group bible study that I can attend regularly until the fall at the very earliest, but would like to cultivate the practice of reading scripture regularly. I did do the Great Adventure Series once and found it fruitful in its approach to illuminating connections between various books. Are there any books, guides, websites, or podcasts that you’ve found to be fruitful?

So many good ones to chose from.

If you have a kindle, try The Great Commentary of Cornelius a’Lapide for each gospel…costs about one dollar. Same price for Catholic Commentary (there are several, for OT and NT) by George Haydock…again about a buck a copy.

I like the New St. Jerome’s Commentary, also, aothough it is a rather bulky reference book.

Good Luck with your studies

I love the Navarre Commentaries. They are not directly mean for “Bible study” as in having questions for discussion/consideration but they are wonderful in their explanation of the text and how it should be applied to Christian living.

The download application needs techinical improvements. I am assured that the Congregation knows and an improvement is in mind. It takes labor.
