Bible highlighting by topic. An idea and a question. (MERGED)

Method sounds similar to these.

I’ve used them before and they work great and help alot. Especially for apologetics. If you’re looking for something more like “In times of Joy” or “In times of Suffering” the highlighting method might be better.

I realize I’m resurrecting an old thread here. But this is a topic about which I’m somewhat (very) obsessed. Does anyone have a particular system or particular topics they use for highlighting/marking?

I highlighted the Douay Rheims by voice, though not topic. The Father in purple, Christ in green, the Holy Spirit in blue, Angels in gold, Satan in red. It is linked in my signature.

I like the idea of highlighting by voice. It doesn’t seem to be quite thorough enough for my purposes. Though I don’t want to have, as a previous poster put it, a rainbow in my bible necessarily, I do want fairly quick access to the topics I’m interested in. These topics could include apologetical topics, voicings as you’ve mentioned, etc. I just want to develop a plan before I start so I don’t end up with something I’m not happy with.

Well since its electronic, you can turn off the highlighting at will. But I agree, organizing by topic definitely more useful than what a red letter bible offers. There is a wonderful moral concordance… I think it was by St. Antony, which does something like this based on moral topics.
