The Bible tells us that God is reliable and His words never change. We also trust in Jesus, who has solemnly promised to be with us unto the end of ages. No need for another messenger or revelation since we have Jesus: perfection.
Ameen!

God bless,

Rony

Yet Mohammad blames Jews of his time for the mistakes of their ancestors. In short, Mohammad tries to say what the Jews of his time do is not different from what their ancestors did.
This sounds like a certain leader of Germany in the 30’s and 40’s

Question:
Why do muslims only claim some of the bible is corrupt?
I mean, you have a book like Psalms, which is yay thick, yet this is not corrupted, according to muslims. Yet, we have many other books in the bible and they are corrupt? How can one book as thick as psalms not be corrupted and others are?

Who says it’s not?

How can anyone compare a the Holy Bible to the koran. I agree that there is alot of wisdom in the koran but it doesn’t mean that it is a book from God. The Tipitaka which is the sacred book of budhism has more wisdom than the koran and it is not even from God.

It’s funny how muslims claim that the Bible has been changed. That’s all they can say to protect their beliefs. If they were to believe that the Bible is true then islam will be mostly false.

Well, do YOU happen to know which books, or parts of them, are corrupted according to the Muslims?
There are 5 “books” which were revealed. And no proof whatsoever that they are the same as what the Jews and Christians have today. In fact it’s actually an irrelevant question in Islam, to say what exactly was corrupted… Muslims don’t have an answer.

But since only 5 books were revealed, one is entirely lost, one is entirely preserved, that leaves three which are questionable.

But by “books” let’s get on the same page. In Islam, the Torah is considered a revealed book. If you don’t know, the Torah is also known as the first five “books” of the Bible–Genesis through Deuteronomy. The “Psalms” is considered another revealed book in Islaam–what the Qur’an calls “az-Zabour.” Is that the same as in the book Christians and Jews have, is it the same as in the Bible? Probably not.

The phrase “probably not” indicates that Muslims have not reached a consensus on this subject yet and they do not really know what to claim about the Scriptures of non-Muslims.

The conventional Islamic allegation that the book of Psalms revealed to David is lost has no theological or historic basis, but only another result of wishful thinking. Nowehere in the Koran is such a false claim supported. Actually, the Koran supports the general idea that the book of Psalms is included in the Torah:

3:3. He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

The Book of Psalms is apparently assimilated into the Torah since the verse does not deem it necessary to separate it from the Jewish Scripture.

3: 48. And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel

Allah does not teach Issa the book of Psalms separately because he knows well that the Psalms is included in the collective Jewish Scripture, which is called Torah.

Peace to all,
Angelos N.B.

So, according to you, Angelos, the Muslims call “the Torah” what actually is the whole TaNaKH?

A fatal flaw in the way you think for there is not a shred of evidence that 5 books were revealed.

And why should it be irrelevant what exactly was “corrupted”? If Muslims don’t have an answer, why are they so positive that because the Qur’an says it, the OT and the NT must be corrupted? Muslims somehow seem to walk by blind faith! Do they think that if they were to question this assertion, or rather put this assertion on hold for a while in order to check this out, that Allah will be angry at them and reject them forever?
If Allah really is the One true God, I don’t see that this should make Him angry. If He is the Truth, He certainly don’t mind us checking out for the sake of having our heart and mind clear. If the Qur’an is right on this, He will show it, and if the Qur’an isn’t, He will show it, too. Allah is not the one to be afraid of people leaving Him in order to seek the Truth, for if they are, and they can come to see the difference between a truth and a lie in faith matters, then they’ll come even closer to Him, won’t they?🙂

I am curious what you have determined wise in the Qur’an. If it is something that agrees in full with the OT or NT is is nothing significant to be called inspired. If it is new and differnet from the ‘books that came before’ I would reject it for I have found nothing new and different worthy to be called wisdom in the Quran.

Maybe the use of sand to clean yourself in a desert? I think I read some mention of this in the Qur’an years ago… Just wisdom on the use of things natural, if you will. At least, that’s one kind.😉

A valid Boy Scout maxim…maybe… but hardly enough to start a religion.

So, according to you, Angelos, the Muslims call “the Torah” what actually is the whole TaNaKH?
This is what the Koran verses I have quoted indicate. Mohammad believed that Torah was the equivalent of the Old Testament.

It might be, Angelos! I wouldn’t be surprised if Muhammad met Jews who would mainly use “Torah and Haftorahs”, and maybe prayerbooks for their Minha and Maariv prayers too (where they would use psalms, kaddish prayers, the Amidah, etc.)

Of course, in their synagogues they read from the Torah scroll… I suppose their “prayerbooks” then must have been in the form of scrolls?

I am amazed at Muslims who ask " where could have Muhammad heard this or that?", as if he dropped down from heaven…fact is he was surrounded by people who read the previous scriptures, including his teacher Waraqa Ben Nawfal who used to translate scriptures into Arabic and who knew Muhammad for many years before his death.

As to the Islamic response to Biblical corruption charge, i can paraphraze it as follows : the Bible is corrupt even if i cannot prove it, because the Quran says so".

This cannot be even called an argument…besides, many people created books and called them the word of God…how are Muslims any different from all the people who follow different books all the while claiming the Bible is corrupt? no difference in belief, but a common charge of Biblical corruption and all are certain their book is from God, regardless where their prophets took their ideas from, as long as they “like” them.

This “non-argument” cannot be answered because the other party is not using reason but faith in something…faith that Islam is correct because it has too many adherents…because it is “easy”…because it is about “One God”…because the book is “preserved”…because it tells you what to eat and how to sleep and dress up…because “i cany understand the Trinity”, because i refuse to believe Jesus is more than a human…in other words, you “find” yourself in Islam, and hence you start “defending” it, but when rational arguments start, we hear no answers, or conflicting ones, or inconsistent ones…whether about the crucifixion of Jesus, the virgin birth of Jesus, the title Son of God, the Trinity concept, or the Bible corruption claim…rarely do Muslims realize that the Quranic refutations are based on the misunderstading of a human, rather than an all-knowing deity…rarely do Muslims know that every single Quranic passage is found in here or there as if Allah’s role is to pick and choose what he was unable to preserve, though he said his word is preserved…talk about mass confusion of history and theology from an all-knowing deity.
