Bible Reading: A Form of Prayer?

These days I read the Bible far more than I pray. I just feel Bible reading is an easier way for me to connect to God and grow in faith. I don’t meditate on the scriptures, I just read them. I probably read the Bible for at least 45 minutes every day now.

Is what I’m doing a form of prayer? Thanks!

Why don’t you read the Church’s words and determine for yourself. I do not mean to be snarky, but I think you are asking something we cannot anwer for you. Check this out:

I believe if you pray before you start your Bible reading to the Holy Spirit and make a prayer for wisdom to understand the Holy
Scripture you are reading it can be a form of prayer. You can certainly put yourself in a prayerful state of mind while reading the
Bible. That is good you are setting 45 minutes a day aside for Bible reading.
So maybe beginning and ending in prayer would also help.

There is what we call Lectio Divina . If you pray with the Scriptures that is praying too. Read the scriptures with reflection and meditation.
