She didn’t calll BSF junk. She said “junk food”. Non-Catholic Bible studies, other than purely academic ones, are filling but not fullfilling. I am sure that many people find them enjoyable and experiential.I am glad you know of these Bible studies and hope you go. BSF is not junk but if you think it is for you great. I have never had an experience like BSF. My daughter-in- law and I went together and it brought us closer together. God Bless you on youe journey with Christ.
BTW, have you read Dei Verbum? It is one of the documents from Vatican II. It is an excellent explanation of how Scripture and the study of Scripture should be integrated into Catholic life. You won’t find that in BSF or any similar study.
