Bible Study/Discussion for High School Age Young Men

I have been thinking of trying to facilitate a young men’s Bible Study (High School Age) in our home. We have a Sunday night youth group that meets a few times each month but I don’t see my son (nor others) getting a lot out of it. My son is also in a Catholic High School where they, of course, have religion class. But I’m not sure how this is really reaching the students on Spirituality, Doctrine, Faith, Morals, Biblical Knowledge, etc. This is not a “knock” on the religion class—students get, for the most part, what they put into things. I would like to see some kind of “small group” fostered where the guys could feel welcome in our home to study, discuss, and hopefully implement. CCD stops at 8th grade in our Parish–after that, education seems to be a bit lacking. Can anyone suggest materials, curriculum, etc., that might help–and, are there any thoughts you might have that would help get this going—have you known of like programs? Thanks!!!
 
Look at the teen resources at Ascension Press. They have the teen bible studies such as the T3 Teen Timeline, Matthew, Act, Revelation; Theology of the Body for teens; and other studies (not specifically for teens) such as Oremus on prayer and Epic on Church history.
 
I just saw today the resources from Asencion Press the person above me just mentioned,they seem interesting.

I wanted to say this is an excellent idea, I myself am in a small group 6 couples group from my parish,we meet once a month and discuss a topic.we take turns as presenters and we go to a different house each time so its not a burden on anyone. Its really great weve become like a family and each time we meet its like a social event cause we eat and then we have our catholic education class.

In the kids case maybe every 2 weeks or weekly if your up to it would be best, they need consistency and structure.

I f in my parish there was no youth groups and you would offering to do this I would love to send my son.

Thanks to both of you. I only just now saw your responses and will look for those resources. With all of the outside stimuli on kids these days, bringing them home via a good study and helping the young men to relate to each other through the faith, is something I greatly hope to help facilitate.

I remember when I was in high school and youth group at my church, we did some of the stuff from Ascension Press: Theology of the Body and the T3 Teen Timeline Bible Study.

They are definitely worth checking out.
