I must have missed something, what is the truth in this discussion ?

All you have to do is tell the JW’s not to call again and they will mark it down so hopefully nobody will bother you again. They are volunteers and do not get paid for this work, so not calling on you is no issue with them.
Yes, we did that. We’ve only had 2 JWs come by since then. They were politely told we’re on a list not to be visited.

Just wish we’d known that all it took was a phone call when we lived in the apartments.

Arianism was a heresy in the early centuries of the church. Jehovah’s Witnesses are modern day Arians.

WOW what a story. I heard one where the witnesses couldn’t get someone to answer the door so the got a ladder and climbed up to the 2nd story and knocked on a window. When that didn’t produce results they took a brick from the front yard and tossed it through the front window.

In your original post, it appears that you wanted to communicate certain truths about Jehovah Witnesses. Later on (posts 10 and 14, for example), you speak of biblical truths, and that is good, because truths about God are surely the most important truths.

I asked whether you “respect the truth here in this discussion.” I ask because it is clear that you have been avoiding and obfuscating other truths such as your religious affiliation and your purpose in coming to Catholic Answers Forums.

If you want the opportunity to speak well of Jehovah’s Witnesses, you can do that here, but you should start by being open about your connection and purpose. There are other threads here that do just that, for example, Ask Me Anything: Muslim Edition, or Ask me anything (almost) about Judaism. These threads have been very popular and informative. Why don’t you try something like that?

My mother was a Catholic and she never opened a Bible in her life.

I believe in the Bible. Sadly most Christians I speak with have very little understanding of it other than a few scriptures.

Somehow, that doesn’t surprise me since the ones here go to such extreme measures.

Neither did any of the people in the New Testament. Did she go to Mass? She heard plenty of scripture there (not excusing reading/knowing the Bible, just saying she likely wasn’t ignorant of scripture just because you never saw her studying it).
I believe in the Bible.
So what do you believe took place in the decades immediately after the Crucifixion/Resurrection? You surely understand from your study that Jesus never wrote or instructed anyone to write anything but did establish a Church with a divine mandate. That Church later produced your Bible.

As already stated, it was an early heresy that denied that Jesus was God, but instead the first creation.
This is clearly against the text and the Church clearly denied it and pronounced the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity.

Jesus was either God or a bad man. He said He is the Truth. Who is the Truth but God? The Way. Who can say this? The Life. Who is this Man?

There is only one truth…but from many sources…how do you tell which is the one truth?

Yes it does…there are who say, from the Bible…and believe that the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon…

Wrong. JWs kept coming out to a friend’s home even after she asked them not to come back, even after she called the Kingdom Hall. Rude, and no regard for her sense of safety as a widow.
