Bible verse that says Lord is "terrible"

I never saw the Lord himself called ‘terrible’ . But I remember it being said that it is a terrible thing to be in the presence of the Lord, as an unbelievers.

It would help us If you posted the chapters and verses where you saw this.
 
Ok, it’s from the Latinamerican Bible, Psalm 99:3–“Sea alabado su nombre, grande y terrible; ¡Dios es santo!”

However, I’m looking at the English translation for the same Bible, and it says, “Everyone will praise his great and majestic name. Holy is he!”
 
Wait, it wasn’t in the Latin American Bible but the “Bilingual Bible”.

From the Song of Solomon 6:10: (KJV)

“Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?”

Terrible is also translated as awe-inspiring, majestic and awesome.

Which is why it’s not a widely used translation in parishes. There are better ones.
In this instance though, terrible means incredible, awesome, all powerful.

Look to context and cultural idioms

Well Wasnt it Moses that God could only reveal his backside to? Something about a human not being able to withstand seeing Gods ‘face’?

When you ask most people about ‘seeing God’ they immediately think of seeing some middle eastern guy with a beard and long hair, but seeing God in his true form would likely be too much for most of us.
