Was the Vulgate translated from other sources and what ones?
I heard the original texts were in greek, is it true?

The Protocanonical books of the Old Testament were originally written in Hebrew (with the exception of some Aramaic in the book of Daniel). The Deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament were originally written in Greek (with the exception of Sirach which was written in Hebrew). The New Testament was originally written in Greek (with the exception of the Gospel of Matthew, which was originally written in Aramaic, but the Aramaic manuscript has been lost).

I have a question… If most of the new testament was written in Greek does the argument there was no term for cousin when they talk of Jesus Brothers hold up? I’ve known that most of them were written in Greek but I was just thinking that… Just curious, I imagine there is a very good answer.

Was Jesus Greek? Did he speak Greek (with presumably differences in “brothers” as opposed to “cousins”) or did he speak Aramaic?

There’s a difference between what a person said and how he spoke as opposed to a testimony of what a person said and how he spoke.

not only the actual words of Jesus, but the testimony and witness of those who saw and heard him, and the gospels written by those who compiled and edited that testimony are inspired by the Holy Spirit.
