It’s not the object that is Holy, it’s the words inside. even then it’s not the physical printing on the page I’m talking about.
Then we agree…the ink and words on paper hold no mystical magical ‘holiness’…the “echo” of the Voice of God is what we seek to Hear…that Still Small Voice carries a holiness all it’s own…not words on a page.

Even though the book itself is not holy, I think writing all over it an dog earing the pages etc detracts from the holy concepts therein, it mixes human interpretation into the inerrant words. That just feels wrong to me. Add that to my feelings about books in general and I just cant do it.
 
I guess this is where we disagree…I do not believe in an “inerrant” Bible or in plenary inspiration of any kind.
