We’ve now moved our worship up to 10:30 so we can get the best seats at Shoney’s ahead of the Baptists and Methodists. 😉 😛

Lutherans are always thinking ahead. 😃 Think its that time again. Gotta go.

Peace

Two of my favorite topics! Our local Catholic church was doing Theology on Tap before the current priest arrived. I don’t know if they continue it now. The cheapest beer I bought in London, England was in Saint Paul’s Baptist Church. My daughter was touring with a chamber choir and they performed there. I was somewhat surprised when I saw a sign beside the entrance that said, fully licenced bar." Sure enough, they served drinks during the intermission.

Now for the Bible lesson of the night. The Greek term “symposium.” referred to a drinking party. In Mark 6:39, the crowd is told to sit on the grass in groups. Here is the Greek:
39 και επεταξεν αυτοις ανακλιναι παντας συμποσια συμποσια επι τω χλωρω χορτω. Now that is the way to throw a party!😃

I would love to find one of these!

My mother-in-law’s husband mentioned this (they are Baptist), I think expecting a different response than the one my H and I gave them. We both loved the idea! Hey, I think it’s better to go somewhere different to have a Bible discussion (and a good beer!) than to not bother at all.
We are constantly shocking my in-law family, so nothing new there.
