I hope the Pastors are successful.
The Minnesota Pastors Summit has thrown its religious weight behind a state constitutional amendment that would ban not only same-sex marriage but even same-sex civil unions and thus deny health and other benefits to the lifelong partners of gays and lesbians.

The ‘author’ directs us towards some theological school in the United States and its beliefs as opposed to the Vatican. Uh, no thanks…

It has been noted elsewhere that those questions, for which one isn’t willing to accept the obvious answer, are always difficult and require much further study,

People can and do interpret anything they want from the bible. Thank God we have the teaching authority of the Catholic Church.

I have had great suspicions of St. Johns University for quite some time…this article only feeds into it. **

What part of “Don’t lie with man as one lies with woman” is hard to understand? (obviously “Don’t” is the part that is hard for some to obey)

Me too, and that is why I have long since ruled out a vocation to the Benedictine community there, and I personaly have discerned the religious life.

Lets just say they have some wacky ideas…

Ummm, lets see what the Church has to say about that in the Catechism, straight from the U.S. Bishops own website.
Chastity and homosexuality

Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved. *
