Yes, God created everything good. But after the fall of man, we now have to deal with original sin. As they used to say, “What a bummer!”
 
I just wondered if you were consistent. Or a genuine crusader on the subject, rather than selective. And I am finding out
 
You keep identifying human beings with verbs and adverbs. Might as well toss them on the fire.
 
I sense a little hostility and pettiness coming out. We’re supposed to be kind to each other, and you all know it.
 
For the first 1000 years of the church Catholics followed Ransom theory to " deal with it." Jesus died as Ransom to the devil.
 
Off topic. Please start a new question if you want to discuss Atonement theories or Church history. I’ll be glad for a civil discussion there.
 
That is probably right. I am hoping we can slow down and not condemn people for being homosexual vs assumed sin because of that status, because it seems to me it condemns a person ab initio, as if born evil.

Just be happy you are not born loving and desiring the wrong people. Because it seems to me empathy dictates such good fortune should generate mercy for a circumstance where love and intimacy cannot exist according to you.

The " beginning" ( let there be light) was 13.5 billion years ago right?
" And the word became flesh" ( not always was flesh) happened about 2000 years ago.

Sexual desire is ordered toward the good. Desire in general is ordered toward the good.
We either cooperate in ordering it well or we don’t.
And then you get in to the mystery of why human beings are fallen, seemingly beyond our own ability to repair.
I empathize for anyone who struggles with sexual desire in any way. That’s not an easy cross.
 
Thank you. Same to you. I admit, being born into a world where your own church tells you your own feelings of love and intimacy are wrong, and unlike your brother, you must live life with none, is pretty tough. That is an understatement.
People born with heterosexual preference are not better because of it. They are free to love and have intimacy. I have problems with kicking others while down.
 
Isn’t the point of married relationships from a Catholic perspective for procreation / to create new souls? So how could a homosexual relationship work in that sense?
But on the other hand I have always thought that I have no idea how different my life would be if I were homosexual. For instance, would I still believe in and follow the catholic church? Or would I reject it because it makes me feel like I cant “be myself”? I understand that it is okay to be homosexual and catholic, obviously, but not acting on your urges. But does anyone else feel that way? That it is (much more) convenient to be catholic If you are heterosexual?
 
Jesus tells us God prefers mercy not sacrifice. Try offering that. Odds are they already know what they can and cannot do

That’s not what was said. What was said was the beginning of Creation was 13 billion years ago. The Earth is not all of Creation. Of course if you subscribe to YEC than never mind.
