Your last sentence is completely out of place in your post. There are specific economic reasons for the condition of the world economy. However, a politician’s position on marriage equality is certainly not one of them.

Jesus Christ is the ultimate, absolute Truth. He said, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life…”

There most certainly is such thing as objective, absolute truths. Those truths, however, were given to us by Jesus Christ, Who is God, Who is Truth itself.

Truth relativism is a recent invention of those trying to undermine the truth. Those who began promoting it are the same folks who try to deny the existence of God. The children of the Enlightenment movement, begun in France about 3 centuries ago as a movement whose aim was to create a society without God. It gave birth to such things as Marxism, Communism, etc. It is an evil movement, and doomed to fail. The question is, though, how many casualties will mankind experience before it fails. They have gained control over our education system, especially in the humanities in institutions of higher learning.

Jesus is Truth with a capital “T.” God’s Truth does not move; it is absolute.

I was talking about the world’s relative truth, with a small “t.” This type of truth has legs on it. It keeps moving around and it is relative truth.

Really? Think about that again. Wisdom and discernment come from God, not man. There is no future without Jesus. These politicians are blind. They cannot get the definition of marriage correct. They also created a false economy without God.

A global hyperinflation will soon be bearing down on us. The dollar will probably lose 50% of its value in the next 3 - 4 years. You will lose your cash and your wallet because of blind politicians.

I understand the Church believes that obedience to it is actual liberty, but how does that even make sense? Liberty can’t be obedience, they are two completely different things, and never are the same.

We are, first and foremost, in a spiritual war. The last 30 years have beern an epic battle betweeen Jesus and Satan. Satan now has everything in place to rule the world. Following Satan leads to enslavement and death, not liberty

We are worst than at the time of Noah. We are in God’s judgement. We will experience God’s 10 chastisements. Remember Exodus and the Tower of Babel. We have only a little time to prepare.

It isn’t us, or a bishop, or anyone from the Vatican who excommunicates Biden. It is Biden, himself, by his actions. What the Church teaches is the Truth given us by Christ. The Church does not claim the authority to correct Christ.

Strictly speaking, the Truth is not a viewpoint or an opinion. It is a Person, Jesus Christ, Who said, “I am the way, the Truth, and the life…” So, when we reject the Truth taught by the Church, we reject Jesus Christ, and are no longer in communion with Christ, i.e., we are excommunicated.

It seems common to me that many folks in our country seem to think that excommunication is a hammer that the Church holds over folks’ head to punish them. It is not. It is a charitable warning that one, by one’s actions, has stepped out of communion with the Church and Christ, and therefore, is in mortal danger for their soul.

It would be an act of self-love to remain silent in the face of someone putting their immortal souls in danger of being lost forever, would it not? Yet, folks in our day think it’s uncharitable to say anything that might “upset” someone else, regardless. Many souls will be lost because of that attitude.

There is a difference between excommunicating someone and declaring whether someone has been excommunicated. We all agree, I trust, that this is not a matter of any person, you or me or his bishop or the Pope himself, excommunicating the Vice President. It’s a matter of Canon Law and of Mr. Biden’s own decisions.

However, for someone else to determine whether this *latae sententiae * excommunication has been applied in this case, they would have to know (among other things, perhaps)

1. Whether Mr. Biden has been baptized
2. Whether political support for and a statement of “comfort with” same-sex marriage amounts to a denial of a truth which must be believed with divine and Catholic faith.
3. Whether this denial is obstinate on the part of Mr. Biden.

I think number 1 can be safely assumed, though perhaps even this should be confirmed before a formal statement is issued.

But number 2 and number 3 are much more difficult. Certainly I agree no Catholic ought to take the position Mr. Biden has, and that he ought to know better. However, I for one am not prepared to demonstrate that the Magisterial teaching rejecting same-sex marriage is de fide rather than some lesser category, much less that the Vice President’s statements demonstrate an actual rejection of that teaching as such rather than just a political position inconsistent with that teaching. Finally, whether the denial is obstinate or not is especially difficult to determine unless you a) know the mind of the Church on what obstinate vs. unobstinate denial consists of and b) know how long and in the face of what kind of evidence and ecclesial exhortation Mr. Biden has held this position.

Finally, and in my opinion fortunately, it is not the responsibility of us ordinarily laypeople to determine whether all the requirements have been met. That is the job of the relevant episcopal authority.

I think one can easily make the case that Biden, along with Pelosi and the other CINO’s (Catholics In Name Only) have excommunicated themselves.

Here’s how:

1. The definition of heresy is the post-baptismal, obstinate denial of a truth which must be believed with Catholic and Divine faith, or likewise, it is an obstinate doubt about the same. In other words, denial of a (just one will do) doctrine of the Church.
2. According to Canon Law, all heretics are excommunicated automatically (latae sententiae).
3. Biden denies the Church’s teaching on homosexual acts, abortion, euthenasia, etc., any one of which would qualify him for the above.

Your point #3 is technically incorrect. If Biden had said that Catholic sacramental marriage should include same-sex couples, then that would have been heresy. But Biden was referring only to secular marriage. He did not say that same-sex couples could be sacramentaly married in the Catholic Church. The difference I am emphasizing is between a belief and a policy related to that belief. You would have to get inside Biden’s head to see if he really believes that same-sex marriage is sacramentaly valid. You can’t know that for sure. Here is another example. Suppose we are debating the law regarding homosexual acts (not marriage). It is Catholic doctrine that homosexual acts are immoral. So to proclaim that homosexual acts are morally neutral would mean excommunication. But how many Catholics today support the idea of secular laws that criminalize homosexual acts? You probably won’t find many who support that. Yet those who allow the right to engage in homosexual acts are not excommunicated, are they?

You might keep in mind that man (finite being) cannot “prove” God (infinite being). Human sciense is woefully inadequate to do the job. It would be like a mouse chewing on piano keys being called upon to explain the finer points of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Not nearly enough horsepower.

when gay marriage was first legalized in california a number of articles were publushed outlining the economic benefits.

both parties have adopted that platform. here it is if you doubt my statement. for republicans to accuse democrats of introducing socialism is sheer hypocrisy by that measure. the socialist platform of 1928 says nothing about God. it addresses working conditions, social services, retirement benefits, etc…
