Biden’s Catholic Bishop Won’t Deny Communion Over Pro-Abortion Views

Dover, DE – The Catholic bishop that oversees the diocese where Joe Biden worships says he will not deny the incoming vice president communion over his pro-abortion views. Bishop W. Francis Malooly’s decision stands in contrast to one made by Bishop Joseph F. Martino, of Biden’s hometown Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Biden has voluntarily removed himself from being in communion with his Church by his support for unlimited abortion. He ought, as a matter of conscience, to voluntarily refrain from receiving communion. This is so clear I fail to see how any Catholic politician could fail to understand it.

I agree. I used to be able to differentiate myself from pro-abort Christians like Clinton and Obama, but with pro-abort Catholics like Biden, Pelosi, Richardson, Kerry, Kennedy, Rudy… the non-Catholic world is being deceived and misguided by the seeming inaction of the Church and silence of it’s Body.

How different are we Catholics than the Muslims who do not voice objection to ‘highjacking’ of our faith? Some might begn to think we really don’t feel it is a non-negotable.

From the article …
He told the Associated Press that he won’t ask Biden to withdraw from receiving communion even though several of his fellow bishops have done so. He said he would rather change Biden’s opinion on abortion.
“I won’t politicize the Eucharist,” Malooly said. “I don’t want to alienate people. I want to change their hearts and minds.” … but in the same breathe …

Malooly wrote in a letter to the editor that Biden “presents a seriously erroneous picture of Catholic teaching on abortion.”
“This is simply incorrect,” he says of Biden’s interpretation. “The teaching of the Church is clear and not open to debate. Abortion is a grave sin because it is the wrongful taking of an innocent human life.”
… I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes when he has to give an account on judgement day of how he shepard the flock that was given to him because given those two comments, I just can’t see how he can justify his actions.

This just struck me as I did not read the article itself:
“I won’t politicize the Eucharist,” Malooly said. "I don’t want to alienate people.
Luke 12:51
Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.

Luke 12:53
They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."

John 6:66
66From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

I think it is time to alienate some people; not in a spitefull way but in the same way Christ did not compromise.

I read this article on MSNBC.com earlier today. I was shocked. I can’t stand it when a Bishop doesn’t listen to the Vatican when it comes to certain issues. I mean, I understand personal beliefs and convictions and things of that nature, but at the same time, you can’t go against a teaching of the Church, especially when it regards a serious issue such as abortion.

Hopefully the bishop will realize he’s not “politicizing” the Eucharist by prohibiting pro-choicers from receiving it.

I think the Bishop needs to remember that we are supposed to only take part in communion when we have properly rectified our sins.

Hi,

Here is a video of Biden talking about this:

youtube.com/watch?v=83A-k0R5EPc

If he thinks that he must bend to the views of others even to the point of sacrificing human life, then I think he is little different from Pontius Pilate.

This is an international issue… there’s been a lot of catholic politicians in Canada who have supported abortion too. Similar situations can be found in Europe, Latin America, etc.

(anyone can say this herself if she chooses)

Lord, deliver us from this wickedness, and bring these leaders to repent from what they do and come to embrace what their church truly teaches regarding this. We ask also that you prevent those who who are living in mortal sin from blaspheming your Son’s body and blood. We ask this, if it is you will, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Bless,

This is troubling. I thought one had to be in the State of Grace to receive Holy Communion. If one supports abortion, which I believe the Church teaches is a Mortal Sin how can a Bishop allow them to receive Holy Communion? The Church in the United States is in grave danger when our priests and Bishops pick and choose which teachings of the Church to uphold for some. The Church needs strong united leadership for all of us. Support for Abortion is a Mortal Sin or it is not and that needs to be made clear for every Catholic on Earth. If Our Bishops are going to send mixed messages then the Holy Father needs to step in and spread the TRUTH and remove those who controdict the teachings of Christ. All I can say is we all must pray to save Our Faith.

HAVE MERCY ON US AND THE WHOLE WORLD

This doesn’t look good, given the severity of the Catholic Church’s opposition to abortion, and its intense activism on this issue during the last election season. It’s inconceivable to me that a clergyman anywhere on Planet Earth could justify compromising on abortion. Consider the implications.

Hmm. Perhaps Bp. Malooly thinks that it is up to Biden to refrain from receiving the Eucharist. Several other Bishops disagree. So do I.

He is receiving unworthily, and committing grave sin in doing so.

He is causing others to sin, by being seen receiving the Eucharist after materially supporting abortion. This in itself is a grave sin.

Bp. Malooly is standing idly by while this happens. Shame on him.

Praying for them both,

Ruthie
“…nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”

…or maybe your bishops don’t believe the things they are teaching you
