Yes.So an eternal universe is impossible, right?

This is from an old post that I wanted to revive. I hope it’s okay with the mods. The question is mine. Can anyone help?
It was supposed to be a revolutionary breakthrough: last March, a team of scientists found what are known as primordial gravitational waves, or ancient ripples in space-time that would have been produced just moments after the Big Bang, stunning direct evidence of a theory most scientists already hold true.

What might interest you is that the confirmation that they exist suggests that inflation is likely to have been the cause. Which in turn points to a multiverse. This is from an old post that I wanted to revive. I hope it’s okay with the mods. The question is mine. Can anyone help?
You are referencing old material. Gravity waves have now been confirmed: abc.net.au/news/science/2017-06-02/third-gravitational-wave-detected-by-ligo/8579350
Or a supercomputer in which we all exists as algorithms.
Doesn’t the idea of a multiverse violate Occam’s razor?
No. It’s not meant to limit possibilities. But it does favour the simpler version of an event over the more complex one. And inflation is one of the simpler explanations for the universe as we see it. And that, in turn, points towards a multiverse.Doesn’t the idea of a multiverse violate Occam’s razor?
The thing is an infinity of universes is an infinite increase in complexity to explain one universe! lol . One universe is certainly simpler than an infinity of them. In fact it really doesn’t explain anything.No. It’s not meant to limit possibilities. But it does favour the simpler version of an event over the more complex one. You can’t retrace your steps and say that a single universe is simpler than an infinity of them, therefore inflation should not be accepted.
The multiverse doesn’t explain the universe. Inflation suggests a multiverse. And inflation itself is a relatively simple explanation for certain aspects of what we know about physical reality. It may not be true, but you can’t discount it because it might lead to something that has greater complexity. The thing is an infinity of universes is an infinite increase in complexity to explain one universe! lol . Those gravitational waves are caused by “local” black holes. That won’t help in identifying Big Bang’s inflation. The useful ones are termed Primordial Gravitational Waves, caused by BB on a universal level. I got sidetracked once as I thought gravitational waves are all the same. Apparently not.
