 Holy Cow! I know who ya mean now. I’m more concerned about her going blind with those eyelashes…

I do feel that these programs are more showbiz, than God biz
The average PTL telecast does not have the Crouches’. There will be a Christian movie Sunday and sometimes a second weekday. Most Monday-Fridays a visiting pastor/gospel artist will host the two hours with interviews of other pastors, celebrities giving their testimony and artist. Mixed in will be some gospel music. You see Jan or her husband during praise a thon times which go on for weeks like the PBS pledge breaks. These days you are more likely to see their son hosting the main PTL show or the behind the scenes at the TBN network show.

I think Jan Crouch looks a bit like Dolly Parton with bigger hair and more make-up.

As long as they are helping people get the word out about God, Who cares ? She may have rainbow colored hair but if that is what makes her happy, let it. What ever happened to the Biblical verse of Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged Yourself?

It is. That’s one of her smaller wigs. And the first pink one I’ve seen, too. It used to be platinum blonde, and some are sky-high. It’s her style. Someday every woman will have foot-high fluffy platinum and silvery-fuschia do’s and then old footage of Jan Crouch will look like the only part of our times that don’t look ridiculous. Then it will go out again. 🤷

So, TBN was co-founded with the Bakker’s. I think they do some good things, just not sure of the damage they do by leading people astray and really don’t like Church TV unless it is something you watch in addition to being a part of a real church.

Sexual harassment settlement
Paul Crouch Sr. paid Enoch Lonnie Ford $425,000 in 1998 as a settlement over what Ford argued was an unjust dismissal from working at TBN. The settlement contained several other points, among them an agreement for Ford to be silent about an alleged homosexual encounter they had in 1996 at a TBN-owned cabin near Lake Arrowhead, California.

They have clearly created a media money monster:
However, the main reason for this emphasis is the fact that in the teachings of those who hold to the Word of Faith and Dominion views, there is an emphasis directed toward adherents, stating that their monetary giving to God will return to them more money than they contribute. As a result, the theology fits in very nicely with the nature of TBN and the method by which it obtains its support and funding. Funding is obtained by donations from believing supporters, and if those supporters are already taught to believe that their giving will return a monetary reward, then the stage is set for the type of message that will be emphasized and programmed in order to obtain the largest offerings possible.

Whatever their faults, personnel vanity or extravagant lifestyles, they have created a ministry which spreads the gospel 24/7 on free broadcast TV and basic cable all over the US with affiliates all over the world. No special computer skills, no premium cable packages or satellite dishes are needed. It is only possible because faithful brothers and sisters do fund the ministry.
