I am an adult and live with my parents due to money troubles for the both of us. While I was raised Catholic, due to not having a car I never attended got fully brought into the Church (ie: confirmed, etc). I was recently signed up for RCIA so I could finally start the process at long last. However due to the lack of a car, I was asked not to go by them (my parents) since I would be using public transportation in a bad side of town at night. I chose to respect their wishes.
This is the catch though, it is the only sessions that they offer that I can attend due to work. So my question is what can I do to fully join into the Church while also respecting their wishes out of choice? Also, am I wrong for choosing to do their wishes in this case?
I am not sure if this is in the wrong section. If it is, I apologize and please feel free to move it.
