I’d appreciate prayers for my son, Erik.
He has a speech disorder called apraxia, where he understands receptive language, but has a hard time actually forming words and expressing himself verbally.
The reason why I bring this up is because we’ve moved to a new school district. So, we really need confidence that the district will provide the speech services and support to help him have a successful year. (that he’ll have a great teacher, resource teacher, etc)
Also, this is a big year for the sacraments for him.
We’ve set a time for a baptism class, so we can get him baptized. (I wasn’t Catholic when he was born and my husband is a nominal Catholic in his best moments. We are both converts).
This is in preparation for him receiving first communion and doing his first confession this spring. (the reconciliation part being a the big challenge given his language issues)
So, naturally, we (mom and dad) are very anxious about the situation. However, I’m really just in a “go with the flow” mode and I’m dragging my husband along for the ride (as I’m the one who does the church thing and is making the arrangements for all of this to happen. Religion is not a priority for my husband.)
If all of you at CAF could pray for our situation, then that would be a great blessing for us.
We really just need all the prayers we can get.
Thanks, in advance.
