I viewed Fr. Ripperger’s talk, although I think I didn’t quite get the part about binding prayer.

If I understood correctly, Father says that we can pray binding prayers to aid in praying for the conversion of someone. But the person praying them should have authority over the person being prayed for. Is that accurate?

I listened to this talk. Thanks for sharing this link.

What you understood is what I also understood. You need authority over the other person

I’ve listened to Father Ripperger a lot, and I do think this is the sort of advice he regularly gives. Demons are legalists and are always caught up in technicalities. So a parent praying a binding prayer over a child would be more efficacious than the opposite.

Incidentally, I just happened to notice this video earlier today, along with the others on this YouTube channel. Do you know if the person posting them actually owns them, or have they gotten them from some other source?

In the comments section, it says this:
  1. I, (Kenneth Deel), Filmed and Edited this video BY direct PERMISSION of Fr. Ripperger. 2. The Final draft (DVDs) were sent for Fr. Ripperger’s (And his Bishop’s) Approval. 3. The Final cuts were uploaded here… 4. The “Swords of Saint Micheal”, as well as “Demonology Today Radio” is deigned for “Education” so it was only fitting we upload it here. 5. Currently, we are the only site to have this specific interview posted, if Fr. Ripperger’s site: “SENSUS FIDELIUM” has not posted it yet. .

Thanks for the confirmation. In that case, what should one pray (aside from the usual prayers for protection and conversion) when someone is bothering you, but you don’t have authority/don’t know if you have authority over that other person?

Like in the case of continuous bullying from a classmate, colleague, neighbor, or some other entity?

@ fin: I don’t know the answer.

I have a query:

I happened to see his website and it has listed
  1. Prayer against Diabolic Oppression is a prayer that may be used when one suspects that there is a diabolic cause afflicting one’s exterior life.
2.Binding prayer which is a prayer used to bind demons from some kind of activity. It is recommended the commanded form of the binding prayer linked here is used on only those over which one has authority (such as a parent to child) or one’s immediate family.

I seriously think there is some kind of oppression that I am facing on the job front.
Can I pray the above 2 prayers?

Father has this prayer listed on his website that seems very appropriate to your needs: sensustraditionis.org/Oppression.pdf.

Edit: Excuse me, I just noticed that you were copying-and-pasting the description of this link, and that therefore you’ve probably seen this prayer.

Yes, in my opinion I again would state it seems very appropriate to your needs, and that you would certainly be well-aided by it.

So to clarify, a person can’t pray these prayers for a parent?

For those who have listened to the talk in the OP

youtube.com/watch?v=uJc6WGOwtsQ

Father mentioned the example of the woman experiencing having men of questionable character having amorous feelings towards her due to a generational spirit. The parents prayed the binding prayer and it was resolved.

He also gave the example of children talking back and not listening to their parents, and suggesting to pray the binding prayer.

I’m thinking about some of the questions you’ve asked, because I’m the youngest in the family, and one of two practicing Catholics, so I was wondering what prayers I could say to aid in our situation (including a member who is very selfish and likes to sow division and calumny, etc)?

In the previous generations, there were also some things that weren’t right, plus they weren’t Christian and all.

I was just hoping that improvement would happen. I’ve been living a faithful Catholic life for several years now, daily Mass and prayer, and always pray for my family. I’m not perfect, but I do what I can.

I believe you should try emailing Fr.Ripperger (although chances may be bleak to get a response).
