Please pray for me and my living with this illness. I had entered a Cistercian community with the intention of living out my life there when I had my first episode. This was was the first of many over a two year period before I was diagnosed and given the medication that I need. I had to spend two months in a mental hospital where I received the care that I desperately needed.
Mental illness is a creepy disease to have. It infiltrates all areas of your life and leaves nothing untouched or unmolested. This includes your spiritual life. My delusions carried themselves into my relationship with the Church and what I believed God was askikng of me at all times.
It is better now and the rosary was a great help when I was too afraid of myself to sit and pray in silence with the Word of God.
I hope to continue my life in a religious community. I have found two that will accept someone with my disability. But there were more refusals from communities than welcomings.
So please pray for me that my medication works and that I persevere in trying to please God.
