Birth control ads on YouTube: just venting

I’ve never seen such ads but it might be an age thing, also I skip the ad the very second you can. My ads are usually ones about setting up some snooze fest business or computer thing… though I dont hear enough of it to know any more (I am impatient and often mute the ad while I wait to be able to skip it). I do understand you irritability though it is shocking to be able to see all that and frightening. My brother has a child coming up to school going age (ok so he’s still a way away but they start school ridiculously early in England) and they are already worried he is going to be told he’ll be allowed to decide he’s a she or some nonsense in school, let alone given some condoms and told go ahead ( his wife is not Catholic but still Christian). Anyway this child goes online already and although very vetted, it won’t be long before it will get harder to vet such things. I dont know how parents can keep everything from poisoning young minds.

Actually in South Africa (where I am from) rape is so common that they actually make rape proof underwear. They cannot be torn or cut off. Only the woman (I dont believe they make them for men but I am sure they can be adapted or I could be wrong, both kinds of rape occur regularly) can however, remove them and put them back on again, for using the bathroom. they are made of some kind of washable plasticated stuff that can’t be cut or torn. The idea is that while some is trying to tear cut or break you out of them, you could be screaming (fire obviously - no one shouts rape as you dont get help that way ) . Anyway, they were patented but not sure if anyone ever bought or used them. That is it is meant to buy you time.

It certainly was unintentional!! Not sure what skeevy is but can guess enough. Thanks for the warning… I’ll edit

So, how would that work exactly? It’s like saying you should control the presence of ads in your newspaper—ads drive revenue. If you don’t like them, consider a different search engine.

YouTube adds are personalized to you. You’ve probably clicked on birth control related topics (from reading about it) and then they started sending you advertisements about birth control.

Haven’t searched birth control, but might’ve searched stuff on NATURAL family planning.

That would be the logical conclusion wouldn’t it?

The world has gone bonkers. Simply the decision to not have sex in order to not get pregnant is viewed with suspicion.

It’s like saying that in order to not get shot while playing Russian roulette is to reduce the number of bullets from five to two.

How about not playing Russian roulette in the first place?

But it’s probably all tagged under the same or similar category for the bots.

PDF format or other files aren’t searchable for bots, but any text on a webpage is.

No, I have never notice one of them.

Perhaps because we are not in the same geographical area. Or because I don’t use them so much.

Thanks you for the awarness.

The dreaded ads. I have been tempted to sign up to YouTube plus or what ever it is so my children will not be subjected to the advertising before the video that they are watching starts.
They should have a fair idea of the viewer by what is being watched.
My children do not need to see an advertisement for condoms before watching a children’s cartoon about saints.
Not only you tube but it also happens on children’s games mr 5 loves Thomas the tank engine he gets 30 minutes a day free time once all his chores are done and his behaviour has been reasonable ( ie not going in Time out )
However the ads that have been comming up on children’s he’s lately have been almost as bad as the ads on you tube
