I need your help, guys. So a dear friend of mine across country is in a pickle. She’s had horribly irregular periond her whole life, and shows signs of PCOS. her doctor, however, just tol her she’s fine and peachy, and put her on birth control. She isn’t Catholic, but doesn’t want to be on ABC. I’m trying to help her find a solution by finding doctors in WA state who work with natural fertility care, preferably around the everette/seattle region. She doesn’t have net access or mobility access, or I’d tell her to look herself. I’m offering to help, but need help to help

Alistair, not being American I can’t help you there
but God bless you for your good-hearted desire to help your friend.
Hopefully someone will check into CAF soon who is able to aid your search.
My prayers that you will succeed in your search, and for your friend’s well-being.
Warm regards,
Trishie

NaPro doctors are trained to “get to the bottom” of fertility and cycle issues rather than just cover it all up with the Pill… I found this (small) directory for Washington state, if it’s any help.

Best,

Margaret

My advice is pretty simple:

Counsel your friend to visit a Reproductive Endocrinologist – not a regular doctor or an OB/Gyn.

If she can, she may ask her current doctor for a few tests to determine whether or not she has PCOS, such as a blood test to determine LH:FSH (hormones) ratio, a glucose tolerance test, and an ultrasound. These are good baselines fow when she meets with the endocrinologist. If her current doc won’t order the tests, she can request them from her endocrinologist at their first appointment.

Your friend can also find support on dealing with her doctor at soulcysters.net.

God bless!
