Don’t know if the OP is still nursing? She and her husband would really benefit from the NFP classes.

Plus, in NFP, it’s still open to life. There is still a small possibility that a woman who has sex during her infertile time period can become pregnant
The possibility of conception is not why NFP is morally acceptable. Basically this is saying that since NFP can fail it is open to life. That would be true of nearly all forms of contraception; even tubal ligations and vasectomies can fail. NFP is information about a woman’s menstrual cycle, including fertility that may be used, as you said, to conceive a child or avoid conceiving.
This is different from artificial birth control (ABC), because ABC intentionally tries to eliminate the possibility of becoming pregnant.
Except that is what a couple using NFP may need that method to do: avoid pregnancy. And if woman has difficulty determining her fertility
and avoiding pregnancy is crucial then abstinence may be necessary.

Me and my husband have been married for a year now, and we do have a 5 month old child together(we were engaged while he was conceived) we only got married by the state not in the church yet(we are planing a church wedding)
Are you Catholic?

To add something, an interesting post from Deacon Jeff.

To everyone who was asking yes I’m breastfeeding, also I do know that the birth control chemicals aren’t good. That’s another reason I feel bad

You are right to trust in god. I am going to get the implant out, and look into NFP. Like I said I do want to do this the right way since we will be getting married in the catholic church in the next year

Thank you to everyone for the help
