I agree with you here. Aborting 1/3rd of each generation, plus widespread contraception, pretty much assures demographic suicide, and guarantees an economic depression.

We can already see the impact of population control.

Social Security is broke because boomers aborted, controlled, and avoided pregnancy so much so that their offspring aren’t numerous enough to support them. This trend is only continuing. I know that every cent paid into SS is money I can kiss completely goodbye. I’ll never see it again.

Well, there’s multiple issues there.

Now, don’t get me wrong, abortion, to me, is one of the most disgusting, evil things that is done in this world. I will never, ever, ever be “alright” with abortion in the sense that I won’t actively oppose it.

Birth control, while I am also opposed to it, still doesn’t strike me as offensively as abortion. If someone had to (and I mean “had to” make a choice, no “ifs, ands,” or “buts”) make a choice between using birth control before sex or having an abortion after sex, I would rather someone choose birth control.

Now, there are other reasons for the problems with Social Security. A big one is that the government doesn’t understand that you need to run at a profit, and that you can’t/shouldn’t spend more than you take in. Social Security has been over-extended to way too many people.

Europe, America, Japan and other western nations are essentially aborting and birth controlling themselves out of existance.1/3rd of children since Roe have been aborted. You cannot wipe out 1/3rd of a generation and expect things to be dandy. The older generation is living longer, so you will have 2/3rds of a generation supporting 3/3rds of the generation in their retirement. This will mean higher taxes and result in what we are already seeing now, people putting off having children, and having smaller families, thus continuing the abortion trend, which will, of course, upset the natural balance of the generations.

Its only logical now that we see euthanasia becoming more wide spread, and more talked about, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw something like a mandatory euthanasia age in a generation’s time. There’s just not enough children being born, so, that means not enough future workers or tax payers.

The wages of sin is death, and our societies are dying.

Guess this means it’s up to married Catholic couples to make things “right”

This is an odd comparison. The Church can allow Catholics to eat meat on Friday, if she would like, but she cannot allow Catholics to practice birth control via the pill, say. The two are not the same class of rule.

“the pill” is very dangerous. It kills babies (it often induces chemical abortions). It kills women (it is known to cause strokes, is linked to breast cancer, and more…see the below website for more details). It is dangerous to the environment (it is polluting our water sources, wildlife is mutating, there is evidence to suggest that it is causing young girls to hit puberty earlier because of hormones from the pill that are ending up in our water sources). Even when you take the question of the morality of birth control out of the picture it is still a very bad drug.

As for things like condoms, no I probably would not want them to be illegal. There usage is very amoral however I think that forcing people to embrace Truth is not the best way to convert them.

I remember seeing on 17 Kids and Counting, how a Korean studio made a documentary of them in hopes of encouraging their citizens to have more children, due to a population crisis. And I also remember reading a bio of a Japanese young woman who’s family was an oddity and often stared at because she had 3 brothers and sisters. Even here, 4 kids isn’t seen as being that big a deal

Those methods that are do not prevent conception should be illegal along with abortion and for the same reason. It is the killing of an innocent human baby - That is, Child abuse or Murder.
Those methods that are purely preventive, such as condoms, should remain legal since it is not our place to impose our religious views on society as a whole.

This is correct. Although condoms are not to be used by Catholics, they do not affect the inherent biology of the human body directly. They merely act as a physical blockade.

People are the ultimate resource. Without people, there is no production, no economy, no trade, no arts or religion for that matter.

It takes two to have sex and when there is consent, who makes the decision? The government? No. Two people did. End of story. Don’t want to get pregnant then don’t have sex. Bad opinion of men? Stay away from them.

In the end, each one of as individuals, make a decision. No one else is telling us to have or not to have sex.

The Playboy Philosophy, wrapped in lots of high-brow articles, attempted to turn sex into a plaything. The Pill was designed to replace the condom and help turn sex into a plaything.

The Hippie, “Hey man. If it feels good, do it.” also promoted sex as a plaything.

Our bodies are designed for reproduction.

So yes, artificial birth control should be banned because if it all starts with each of us then each of us should have the personal responsibility to decide when to have sex and when not.

Still, there will have to come a certain point, I imagine, where nations will realize they need to start increasing their populations and thus start enforcing more procreation-friendly laws. I think it would be a cyclical thing.

We also are forgetting the future possibilities of space colonization. I do believe that, at some point in the future, man will have to take over Mars.

Yes, there are some European countries that are already at or past that point. But depopulation, once started, gains an inertia of its own and is very difficult to reverse.

Colonization of other planets is a possibility. But it seems to me that our civilization has lost or is losing the exploratory impulse and imagination. Maybe that will reverse.

Indeed. But, still, I have a bit of an optimistic streak about me (which is strange, considering that I also suffer from anxiety. ) I think that good wins out in the end.

I am saddened by the loss of interest in the space program. That was the one thing I thought the government was getting right, and they decide to cut that. Not that worthless Amtrak, or the various welfare programs that make people dependent and keep them stuck in poverty. No, they decide to cut the one thing I thought was actually a success and would be vital to our nation’s future. I always have held the opinion that space was the next step for mankind, not a one-world government or some junk like that.

I tell you, I really hope that the American people throw all these bums out this November. They are just shameful, really.

A nation does not particularly need to pass or enforce more procreation friendly laws in order to repopulate. Only “Ethnic groups” would need to look at the matter this way.
For instance. The United Sates would still be the United States even if the “Ethnic Europeans” bred themselves down and the “Ethnic Hispanics”, or some other group became dominant. What is the determining factor is not the “laws” but the cultural norms of the population. “Whites” have small families and Hispanics have large ones? Population remains up, nation remains viable, and only the demographics change.

It is unlikely that Laws (like abrotion) will change once the population gets use to having that option.
