Why is it considered to be a sin in the catholic church?
ARTIFICIAL birth control is a sin. Natural family planning, periodic continence etc. to ‘space’ (i.e. to control) births etc. is not.Why is it considered to be a sin in the catholic church?
Birth control is the spacing or avoiding of children for a time or indefinitely. The Catholic Church does not teach that it is a sin to space or avoid children for a just reason and never has.Why is it considered to be a sin in the catholic church?
Contraception deprives the marital act (sex between a husband and wife) of the procreative meaning intended by God; this deprivation makes the act inherently contrary to the moral law, and therefore always immoral. Why is it considered to be a sin in the catholic church?
Tantum gave you some good history, but as for why it is wrong was not really answered. When you use birth control that is not abstinence based, like Natural Family Planning, you are talking something that God gave to you and created for you and misusing it. Sex has a purpose. It is both unitive and pro-creative. If you remove either of these by your own doing, that is a sin. The same logic is used for why the Church teaches that artificial insemination is wrong. Why is it considered to be a sin in the catholic church?
Man and woman don’t join themselves in marriage, God joins them in marriage and using birth control is like telling God to butt out. That’s a serious sin of “my will be done, not Thine”. It is the sin of Lucifer. Why is it considered to be a sin in the catholic church?
