I am starting late in life of getting married. I am 63 and Josephine is 58. Once married, how can one have sex at such a late age? Contraception is forbidden. Is it just too late for us? I can only guess that we should refrain from sexual activity, and just have a marriage with no sexual activities. I am just not sure. James

If your wife is 58, isn’t she post-menopausal? If so, why worry about contraception?

I’m not sure I understand. I know many people of that age who are still very much sexually active with their spouse. They don’t use contraceptives and generally have no concern about getting pregnant. Sure their libidos aren’t that of a young, twenties couple but they still are very much in love and enjoy one another.

If you are honestly afraid to have children at that age then maybe you should consider NFP. I don’t think it should be a concern though.

I don’t understand your question.

You can certainly have sexual relations with your wife.

Actually a marriage is valid from the moment of consent…it isnot a consummated marriage yet…but it is a marriage. And some have the rare vocation to never consummate.
