Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about possible birthday presents for my mom. She turns 55 in a few weeks. We don’t have many religious household items except a few crucifixes in our bedrooms. She is not an avid reader.

What do you think about…
-Catholicism Series DVDs by Father Barron (I’ve only seen the first DVD and it was amazing!)
-Buy Jesus poster (Maybe Merciful Jesus Divine Mercy poster) and frame it
-Buy Jesus figurine/statue for garden or indoors
-Buy a bigger crucifix to put in our family room

Any other ideas welcome!
Thank you

How about a little statue of Mary for her room, or a rosary? I’m thinking it would be good to start her off with something that will lead her to a productive prayer life. She will get lots of books and “head” information when she goes to RCIA, but it will be important for her to be connected in prayer with her family.

Fr. Barron’s Catholicism series is wonderful. If she enjoys watching DVD’s, she might enjoy that, plus it gives a lot of background information about the Catholic faith.

A garden statue is a also a great idea. I love my St. Francis of Assissi statue.

A really nice Catholic edition Bible with nice illustrations and comments would be lovely.

Maybe a rosary with a center medal depicting the saint who has the same name?

All of your ideas sound great. Your mother is lucky to have such a thoughtful daughter.

Great ideas, thank you! She got me a rosary for my birthday last year! 👍

I like the suggestion of a high-quality proper Catholic Bible. It’s a nice thing to have and look at, plus it’s a reference and spiritual tool. Bring it to class!
