Bishop calls for ‘offensive’ posters to be removed

From the Catholic Herald:

The Bishop of Leeds has urged a theatre to withdraw an “offensive advertisement” for a play about incest which features a Pietà.
Bishop Arthur Roche wrote to Ian Brown, the artistic director of the West Yorkshire Playhouse, to protest against the poster, which uses an image of a statue of the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Christ to advertise a play about the incestuous relationship between two siblings.
In his letter to Mr Brown, Bishop Roche wrote: “You will undoubtedly be aware of the considerable disquiet and outrage that your company’s advertisement of ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore is causing to Christians.

Interesting how these things all come out either during Holy Week or immediately prior to it (the date on this story is 4/14…the Thursday before Palm Sunday).
 
They won’t do this against minorites, gays, muslims and those with disabilities. Yet Christianity is a free-for-all. So much for P.C.
 
So much for P.C., and so much more we ought to mobilize. At some point, these acts will turn violent and it will radicalize and mobilize Catholics and we will show our numbers.

When I was in college, PETA posted a billboard during Holy Week that showed a pig in a serene scene, and said “He died for your sins.” This was within plain view of the entrance to our parish. I heard that PETA also was protesting outside the local KFC. I went in, ordered, ate and contemplated for a long time throwing the bones at the protestors.
 
Catholics in that Diocese should support their Bishop. All other Christians should too.
Picketing against blasphemy should start immediately.
Muslims would not let anyone insult their Faith this way.

In England of all places. It would be illegal to put up a poster of Mohammed and say it is a pity he is a pedophile (which would be a horrible thing to do). Yet they can have a billboard calling our mother a w—e.
 
Wow. I am really disgusted by that picture. The people who put that up ought to be ashamed.
