I t has come to my attention that during Palm Sunday services that Cardinal Dolan HIMSELF
gave V.P. Biden the eucharist during communion. and then gave a “shout out” to
Biden during the service. It has also come to my attention that Bishop Dolan will NOT ALLOW the Latin Mass be performed in his archdiocese.
What a let down when we compare the actions of our Pope and the actions of the man
we call “America’s Prince”.
What do you think of this?
He who is without sin cast the first stone . . .

ATTENTION

It is one thing to point out to a fact and describe it as what it is.

It is quite another to point to the fact and editorialize it. You may not add your spin to this story. State it as it actually happened. Do not try to get into the Cardinal’s head to tell the rest of us what he is thinking or not thinking. That’s not what a theologian would do.

Once you state the fact, you can state white it is right or wrong, but you may not say attack the person. That’s not how the Holy See speaks about these things. I have said it over and over. Speak using the language of the Holy See when you post here.

Finally, do not add misinformation to your post. That’s unfair to the person.

I’m so glad the Church has finally changed its teaching and now allows those Catholics who openly disagree with Church teaching to receive communion.

Cardinal Dolan has a HUGE dark cloud on the horizon by the name of Christine Quinn. Please pray for him.

Church teaching or God’s law? Or, does it matter any longer, as long as we all get along?😦

I don’t know about your other claims but this is clearly incorrect. There are Latin Masses in New York City.
and a priest no longer needs the permission of the bishop to perform a traditional Mass.

Since we don’t ACTUALLY know what happened, and we don’t ACTUALLY know what was in Biden’s heart, and the only sources people seem to be going off are SECOND HAND, in other words HEARSAY, then all of this posturing, and hand wringing etc is for naught.

Why not just say a prayer for Biden, and one for the Cardinal too.

Or don’t we believe in prayer anymore? We’d rather kvetch instead.😦

I attend the TLM in the Archdiocese of NY. Here’s a short video: vimeo.com/54913082

There are three parishes that offer the TLM that I know of in midtown east alone. That probably makes NYC the most TLM-friendly city in the western hemisphere.

The whole thread smells…

Nobody is judging Biden’s heart but it’s fairly easy to see where hes coming from. Just google it. We can put a value on his behavior without judging him to hell. I haven’t posted on these boards in years because every discussion dissolves into the pc police. Anyway it’s very clear the Church is in big trouble and that no matter what side of the aisle you are from that we need to pray. Hard.

I apologize for for adding irrelevant material to my original post and also if I was being
uncharitable to the Cardinal.😊
However, Cardinal Dolan did violate cannon 915, and will the Vatican take action?
I agree with Triumph guy, both the Cardinal and V.P. Biden need our prayers.

If this has been proven true, then I am speechless and saddened.

In my life there are about 9,367,822 things more important than what a Cardinal might or might not have done in some diocese 850 miles away from where I live.

I recieved the Eucharist in a state of grave sin for 33 years. I’m glad no one called the priest who distributed to me to the carpet, or called for my excommunication.

What we see as the sin and permissivness might just be God’s patience.

Well, since the Bishop (in this case the Cardinal) of the Diocese is the person who gets to interpret the law, and you are not a Bishop or Cardinal, then you do not get to make the determination of whether or not Cardinal Dolan violated Canon 915.

That said, I think this post bears repeating
I, too was concerned when I heard that VP Biden was going to go to the Ceremony and Mass. I attend a parish where, after daily Mass, our priest asks if we would like to sit and discuss any question or concern we have on our minds. I brought up the impending possibility of Biden presenting himself for reception of the Holy Eucharist for the whole world to see and his long held milque toast position on abortion. Biden claims that while he personally holds to the teachings of the Catholic Church he believes he has no right to force his beliefs on anyone else and therefore he feels he is in compliance and in good standing with the Church. I was wondering what would happen and would Biden be denied when he presented himself. Our priest told us that the Pope would not deny Biden and that we have no way of knowing what is in Biden’s heart. He further stated that I was judging and seeking revenge against this man. At first I was stunned and inwardly felt righteous indignation. Since this was not a debate but question asked and answered, I said nothing further and resolved to pray and reflect on what Father had said. After many days and nights of praying and reading Catholic literature, including the CCC I did come to see that what my pastor said about me was true. I have repented and asked for God’s forgiveness and will pray for all those who are lost in darkness instead of making pronouncements on another person’s guilt or innocence.

If you repented of your sins, then you have nothing to worry about. As far as I know, V.P. Biden still supports abortion, which makes him ineligible to take the eucharist.

In my life, to paraphrase St Francis, I see nothing bodily of my Lord Jesus Christ other than the Eucharist. As such, He deserves the utmost respect. If He was given to a public sinner, it is a horrible thing.

You most of missed my original post, I said Cardinal Burk WHO IS IN CHARGE OF WRITING
CANNON LAW FOR THE VATICAN, said in the 2004 election that ALL bishops should
not give communion to pro abortion politicians under cannon 915.

Whoah! You left out the rest of that quote.

He said that if he saw an angel and the most sinful priest, he would reverence the priest, because in this world he sees no physical sign of the Lord, except his most holy Body and Blood, which only a priest can consecrate and he cannot receive absolution for his sins except from a priest.

We have to look at the context. He made this statement, because he was asked his opinion on a priest who was living with a mistress. He completely ignored the priest and mistress issue.
