Says what we all feared, there is massive resistance against the motu proprio. We’d be lucky to get it before the end of the year.

I guess all I can say is that I’m glad this is all getting laid out in the open by the secular and religious presses. Interest I hear is growing amongst a lot of non-Catholics and that can’t be bad. 🙂
Interest is growing amongst many Catholics who 2 years ago would never have thought of attending Mass in Latin.

That is true. The interest is great indeed. Iam delighted that there are more people attending the TLM. I have seen these videos, and I think Bishop Fellay has some very excellent points!

I think it was a fascinating video. I want to know if it’s actually true that Pope Paul VI did not even read the Novus Ordo Missae before he signed it to promulgate it.
Actually, what HE Bishop Fellay said was that Paul VI did not read the text of the promulgation of the NOM, which contained heresy. Could someone shed more light on this, what were the heresies in this text?

Perhaps he was referring to this canon from Trent session 7.
CANON XIII.-If any one saith, that the received and approved rites of the Catholic Church, wont to be used in the solemn administration of the sacraments, may be contemned, or without sin be omitted at pleasure by the ministers, or be changed, by every pastor of the churches, into other new ones; let him be anathema.
The storyline is that Bugnini did not intend to create a new Rite, only to make changes so drastic that it would create a version that would be unrecognisable to the trads, yet there would be no going back. Paul VI, in response, said, no, this would be a New (Order) Mass, probably forgetting that any new rites would be a violation of Trent. In effect, though, what he did saved the Old Rite. Maybe that’s what he wanted to do.

There was a omission in the first promulgated version of the Mass which mentioned “God and the Son and the Holy Spirit”.

That, if authentically promulgated, would have been the heresy of Arianism, implying that the Son or the Holy Spirit were not God.

The correct text read “God the Father, and the Son…”
